Mrs. Milkshake, Seattle/Vancouver, BC Age and Occupation: 23, Pharmacist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Pharmacist Engagement Date: May 2007 Wedding Date: August 2008 Blogging Since: December 6, 2007 Venue: Victorian Mansion About Me: Despite the fact that I’ve invested many long years of my life studying the sciences in college, I’m glad to be out of there and I would never do it again! I’m super artsy at heart - I run an indie craft site, I grew up shooting and developing my own film, doing jazz and ballet, and the whole gamut of art classes. I’ve been called a Jane of all Trades… but I was also told many years ago not to make my passion my career because it’d suck the fun out of it. Hence my choice of day job. We live in Seattle but are having our wedding in Canada to be fair to all our family and friends.

Trash the Dress Part 2

Trash the Dress Part 2 : wedding photography vancouver Ms1 ms1

By now I think everyone is very familiar with the wicked cinematography skills of the men at Still Motion (see our same-day-edit and trash-the-dress) but there is also one powerhouse of a female photographer behind it all, too. Amina gave up her camera on our wedding day to shoot video in Super8, and we had so many guests tell us just how undaunted she was to literally jump up onto a skinny, beveled ledge with a good 1.5-2 story drop below to get a shot while our photographer stood up on the sturdy bench firmly cemented to the ground. She lived up to what I’d been hearing the past few months—that she’s pretty bold when it comes to achieving the perfect shot.

I am a huge fan of her “portrait”-work, and I use the term loosely because it definitely isn’t a tilt-your-chin-this-way, adjust-that-lock-of-hair kind of experience. We had a blast with the Still Motion team, and I feel really blessed that we were able to spend an extra day with them outside the wedding day blur.

Thanks to Amina for these truly breath-taking photos, and even I’m surprised at the diversity of them all. We did shoot at a few locations, but many of the shots within the same space look completely unique. With a pretty strong photography background myself, and even with being the focus of the entire day, I never expected how phenomenal these photos would turn out.

Love the shot of you jumping in front of the old building. You have got to be Still Motions dream type of bride with your funky style.
