Hi all - this is my first time posting here!

I am newly engaged and I’m working on picking attendants. I only want to have 4 bridesmaids, so I am trying to pick between 2 friends to fill the last slot.

I think I have basically made my decision, but I am struggling with how to tell this person she won’t be a bridesmaid. This is made worse by the fact she expects to be a bridesmaid. I was in her wedding last month, and she has been talking about me getting married for some time. She actually said the other day, “and by the way, I haven’t received my formal invitation to be a bridesmaid yet. “

How should I approach this with her? I don’t want to ruin my friendship with her, and would love to be able to ask her advice, etc.

Anyone been through this before?
