Are you looking for unique gifts for your fiance, bridal party and family? Do you love Etsy, but long to see the products up close and personal before purchasing? Are you starting to think about holiday shopping? Do you love to buy homemade things? Look no further, The Detroit Urban Craft Fair is tomorrow!

The fair starts at 10 am and ends at 7 pm. Admission is free!
Many of the sellers have etsy shops, so it’s a great way to get ideas for wedding stuff, or even talk to them about custom orders!
I am so excited to scout around for cute bridesmaid gifts, and holiday stuff too!
This is the third annual Craft Fair that Handmade Detroit has put together. I had a booth at the first two fairs, but this year had to decline as my job search is my first priority. I did find some time to enter an Eco-Fashion Design competition for the fair!
Miss Hot Cocoa, do you remember challenging me to make a dress from things found in the Martha Stewart craft aisle? Well, this isn’t exactly the same, but hey, I’m trying! : )I picked up my bag of random fabric scraps (when they say scraps, they mean scraps!!!) and vintage clothes. Everything in the bag had to be used! Here’s what the bag looked like before I dug in:
I opened it to find a lovely assortment of fabric:
It’s hard to tell from this image, but the biggest piece of fabric in the bag was a peach, pink & white quilted bedspread. Can you see the light blue denim? That’s a vest from the 80’s. Oh boy.
Curious? Come to the craft fair, all of the dresses will be on display from 10 am to 7pm. The competition will be judged at 6pm. I can’t wait to see what the other dresses look like!
I’ll be there in the afternoon, and stay until the judging, at which point I will be able to take my crazy dress home. Hope to see some bees out there tomorrow!
