Teaser 8: So Long! Farewell!

November 14th, 2008 @ 2:25 pm by Mrs. Avocado

After being showered with ecofetti outside the hotel we hopped in the car and drove away. Wait… we were spending the night at Hotel 1000 that night, why would we get in the car and drive away?

Why, to get shots like this of course!

Reasons why I love this photo:

1. I wanted something iconic, something to end our wedding album with a bang.
2. I had pretty high expectations about this photo. These are the photos that inspired it*:

I think Kelli Nicole did a pretty amazing job!
3. Kelli was exhausted by this point. It was somewhere around 8:00 PM and she had been shooting me (all by herself!) since somewhere around 7:00 AM. Actually we were all exhausted, as I had been going non-stop since about 5:30 AM that morning.
4. There is a shot of me as a senior in high school, standing in this same park, with this same view of Seattle that Mr. Avocado absolutely adores. My mom gave a huge print to him as a gift once, and it just might be his all-time favorite photo of me. I love that we can replace my old senior picture with one of the two of us.
5. I would imagine all brides become attached to the city they are married in, and I love that this is our shot of the city we got married in.
6. In between shots I was picking ecofetti out of my bra and out of my dress. It was everywhere!

Until I get my Dvd(s) of pro-pics back, that wraps things up for now. I hope you have enjoyed my teasers, and I can’t blame you if you want to head over to Kelli Nicole and check out all of the teaser shots (all 144 of them!) on her blog!

Fantastic picture! What park was this at? Was it gasworks or maybe Volunteer? I need to start sweet talking my photographer to stay late!

Mrs A, that’s an amazing shot — I think it’s even better than your inspiration pics! Both the skyline and the two of you turned out equally well. And it’s that much more special given your story in #4 — how sweet!

This picture of you and your hubby takes the cake for me. I have been following your teasers and I have loved every single picture that you showed. Your Photpgrapher is AWESOME!!! It doesn’t hurt that you and your hubby make a handsome couple. :)

I wanted to comment it shows to me that you, your hubby and your families put a lot of thought in the marriage and the celebration of the marriage (Wedding). Good luck.

Would anyone happen to know who the wedding dress designer is of the second inspirational photo? I’m in love with her dress!

You really had some amazing photos taken of your day. I am insanely jealous and am crossing my fingers and toes that we get a shot or two of that caliber.

What park is that? The fiance and I are going to seattle for our honeymoon. (some family is there and we’re tossing around the idea of moving there in the next few years).

i’d truly love to get some good pictures of us there so i’m wanting to find a student photographer or the like. could you tell me where that park is? I’d love to go explore it! :)

good idea! Kerry Park, right? I was thinking of going there for an after-ceremony shot, but might save it for evening (and Gasworks for afternoon).

I’ve loved your recap style of one important picture at a time and why it’s so special to you. I have these thoughts when I look through my wedding album - and each picture is so special. When I show it to someone I want to blabber on about every detail!

BTW - amazing picture!

Well Kelli and I both think that the inspiration photo is much better than what she came up with (it’s true, and we’re friends so I can say that), but thanks to all of you who mentioned you think otherwise!

@melissa: Even though it looks different on the website, my sister tells me it is this dress.

@YSAP2M: @EvMarie: @koaleia: My photo was taken at Kerry park! I’m pretty sure that the photo by John and Joseph was taken at Gasworks. Kelli took some family photos at Gas Works park a few weeks ago. Isn’t the shot of the family on the hill amazing?
