About Mrs. Cheese

Contest! Contest! Contest!

November 15th, 2008 @ 3:10 pm by Mrs. Cheese

I love contests, don’t you? Okay, really, I don’t love contests, but I do love any excuse to daydream, and this is it, so join me!

Here’s how it works:

1) Pick one or more products from Beau-coup’s Wedding favors.

2) Using that product, please tell us how it would fit a wedding theme. You could tell us about the color palette, table decor, the type of venue, the overall mood, how you would use the product, or anything you can think of. You’re welcome to create an inspiration board or pictures to illustrate your ideas for extra points, but it’s not mandatory.

One winner will be randomly selected by me, and will receive a $75 gift card to Beau-coup!

~~~
Woo, hoo! We’re having an outdoor shindig that I like to think of a cocktail party under the stars. You know, drinks and swizzle sticks and overdressed people lounging in rustic settings, eating yummy finger foods (ahem, canapes) and dancing to waltzes. Ohhhh, yea.
And so I need these, right? If I was a guest, I’d bust these babies open and use them during the reception!
source
And we need to fill these with one perfect chocolate or one tiny crispy rice treat… Mr. Cheese loves chocolate and I prefer buttery wonders of goodness. The boxes are just formal enough to lend some elegance, but with sweet treats inside, are just like us. Ya know, in our formal duds but sweet and sappy all at once.
source
How fabulous would it be to get a monogrammed flask as a wedding party gift? Very decadent.
source
“Happiness held is a seed. Happiness shared is the flower.” Swoon. We’re getting married in our garden and I’ll be attempting to grow my own bouquet, so gifting seeds fits perfectly. How great would it be to get pics of the results?
source
Your turn. You have until Monday at 11:59 pm to pick a favor and explain how it would fit a theme. Let the imagination begin!
I pick the personalized matches - it would be a late fall/early winter, with warm deep reds/burgundys/browns, lots of candles, for a cozy atmosphere. The main theme would be something like “light of my life” or “warmth of our love” or something like that, and other favors could be pashimas or scarves.
I would pick the plantable seed wedding favors. I am probably going to end up getting these even if I don’t win. That’s how much I love them! We are trying to have a more eco-friendly wedding; We are eating organic local food, recycling the flowers (giving them to a local nursing home after we are done with them), and planting a tree the day after the wedding. These favors would be the perfect addition! Thanks for this contest!
I would choose the personalized cookie mixes as favors. How fun, and everyone knows that my fiance and I have ridiculous sweet tooths! The label would be moss green and burnt orange (my colors).
I love the idea of the lavender wedding rice. Not only does the purple color match our plum and sage color scheme, but its something safe to throw outside at our garden wedding (where we can’t have rice or anything synthetic). I think it would be an unexpected twist on throwing rice that guests would really like.
I’d like to get the mint tins as our favors. FI loves loves mints and always has a box or tin of mints with him. So this would be a nice personal touch. I also want to make personalized labels to go on top of the mint tins so we can be thrifty and eco (another personal touch) and use them as place cards.
I have to pick the personalized wedding goodie bags for my candy bar. My mom really loves the idea of the candy bar so that would be a wonderful touch to the whole thing.
Oooh, I’ve had my eye on those cocktail shakers for months now!
We’re doing an outdoor wine country wedding in fall, at a private estate with huge oak trees for the ceremony, and a modern house + candlelit pool for guests to lounge around on sofas/ottomans. Kind of a city + country feel… I think the mini cocktail shakers would be a great accent to the bar/lounge area!
The color palette is pale champagne/golds with darker merlot/burgundy accents. The mini oil and vinegar bottles with personalized labels would be a perfect favor, and even match the palette.
(If we were going to break the bank, I’d give away wine in the personalized jute wine bags, but sadly those are not in our budget.)
Great contest idea!
Hi Miss Cheese! I love the silver luggage tags - and especially the ones shaped as an airplane! My fiance is French and most of our relationship has developed over two continents. Plus, half the guestlist is coming from France! So travel and experiencing different cultures are themes of both our relationship and our wedding. A luggage tag favor reflects that perfectly - AND it’s practical!
Since our wedding will be nestled in the Mountains of Upstate NY in an old victorian manor, I would buy the leaf name card holders. Our entire wedding is taking on a rustic orange, red, amber feel. It would complete the mood because I cannot find the perfect place card holders and these are beautiful!
I’d go with the snowflake topped wine stopper. We’re having wine cork place cards for our January wedding, and it would help pull the winter wonderland theme I’m going for together!
Definitely the glass spice jars, so I could mix up a saucy condiment and give each guest a way to remember the flavors of summer after our wedding!
I am really wanting the personalized hand fans. My wedding is going to be on the 4th of July outdoors and my guests will definitely need all the help they can get trying to stay cool in the summer sunshine!
I adore the little metal sailboats. The will go perfectly with our nautical blue, white & Purple theme. How cute would they be filled with wintergreen life savers on the bar. Maybe with the jelly life savers for the kids tables and chocolate shells for the adult tables? (I love the way kifesavers look like life preservers.)
We could number the flags and use them for table numbers too!
The tea sachets are great! We are the last in our group of friends to get married so we have already agreed that edible favors are the ones we enjoy most. And a nice warm cup of tea goes well with our fall wedding, plus the groom’s mom and I both love tea!
I would choose the cupcake candle (http://www.beau-coup.com/mini-cupcake-candle-favors.htm). Our wedding theme is an “old fashioned sweet shop” and we plan to have a dessert and candy bar to go with a fun, casual, cute, and laid back atmosphere. At our dessert bar, we are showcasing my favorite cupcake shop and the FI’s favorite cupcake shop in a cupcake-off. We might just have guests vote on which cupcakery was their favorite too and associate it with a prize! :)
The BlackBook NYC version would be perfect for the gift bags for our out of town guests. We are having an urban nyc wedding in shades of plum and black- so even the color of the books would be spot on.
When I saw the Starfish Wine Bottle Stopper I thought it would be perfect for our combo theme. My Fiance and I LOVE wine, so while we aren’t having the reception at a winery (we live in the midwest) we are trying to incorporate all sorts of wine details from wine vines on our website and invitations, to wine corks as place card holders and in centerpieces. So the wine bottle stopper would be the perfect addition. Plus, while it is technically a starfish, it looks just like a cute star to me which is perfect since our reception is at a Planetarium with big glass windows looking at the skyline and all the stars! Stars and wine two of my favorite things, and the bottle stopper brings they together perfectly!!!
I would get the Mini Bird’s Nests. We’re getting married in a zoo–right next to the aviary! I’d place the nests at each place setting with candy eggs inside that match our colors. I think these would be perfect as the nests would connect the tablescape to our unique venue in a classy way…that didn’t involve leopard print or some other cheesy zoo theme.
I would go with the pastel mini favor vases for two reasons. 1. I could see them scattered around an intimate outdoor spring wedding…on the cocktail tables and clustered on the guest tables. Spread around on the head table mixed in with some candles. 1-2 flowers per vase would be perfection! 2. Not only is it a cheap, ADORABLE little center piece option, but it could also serve as your guests party favor! To mix it up, you could tie their names to each vase and your guests could search around the venue to find theres. It would also create some wonderful conversation, or a chance to meet new people!
Our wedding is July 3, 2009 and I’ve been worried since booking our site (a local park/barn) about the heat. Fortunately, the barn just got air conditioning last summer, so the reception will be nice and cool. I would pick the wedding program fans to keep our guests cool during the ceremony and keep them informed (something that both of us value highly, since we’re both reporters!).
I would totally go for the wine cork candles. Our theme is “Message in a Bottle”, and I plan to scatter empty, lable-less bottles around my tables as part of my centerpieces. How cute would it be to be able to stick cork candles into those bottles for my guests?!
I’ve created not one, but TWO inspiration boards!
First is about the location of where I’d like us to marry (Jekyll Island, Georgia) and its importance to my family. (I made this board before btw) Second board is highlighting my Old South meets Old Hollywood theme and two of the Beau Coup favors incorporated into the theme: monogrammed brownie pops and the dolphin bottle stoppers.
My son (he’s 10 now) LOVES brownies and these are kid-friendly yet elegant (can sooo see these on the children’s table) and who could resist one? Plus the dolphin bottle stoppers are a lovely reminder of the wildlife directly on property at Jekyll Island Resort. There’s a dolphin watch tour right on the river which takes you out to the open water!
Check these out and feel free to comment if you think my little fella is a cutie patootie! :)
I think a chocolate theme would be so cool! (Even though it’s not our “shabby-chic/vintage-glam” theme, I’m being creative!)
For the ceremony, instead of a unity candle do the bitter chocolate/sweet wine ceremony, serve white and dark chocolate martini’s for the signature drink, and for favors the mini chocolate covered brownie pops would be PERFECT! Of course the reception hall should be flanked with white, milk, and dark chocolate fountains! The menu cards could be printed onto chocolate, and the centerpieces could be lots of funky fun shaped glass filled with chocolate covered coffee beans and topped with candles! I could keep going, but I think I’ve already taken up too much room! :)
Yay, love this contest! We’re doing a nautical theme and we are actually thinking of using the mini wooden sailboats for our placecards. They’re perfect. I am planning to sprinkle the placecard table with light blue and white sea glass then place the mini sailboats on the table.
Since I heart customization and all things miniature - I had to choose the mini monogrammed brownie pops. They are too adorable. I’m going with a brown and green theme so I think they will be perfect for our small reception.
They are fun, unique and a little different than other favors I’ve looked at. Since we’re going slightly non-traditional route, they are just right.
It’s food on a stick - kids will love the concept of a brownie lollipop and the adults will dig the whimsy I think.
ps - and they are chocolate - and that matters the most in any decision I have to make :)
At first I was going to pick the star fish wine bottle stopper favor for our September beach wedding since we are using starfish on the tables and invites, that would fit perfectly (and silve is one of our accent colors) but then…
I fell in love with the mini brownie favor pops! Brownies are my favorite and my German FI is learning to love them as much as I do because my mom bakes them whenever we visit. She even made him a brownie birthday cake this year for his birthday so they really fit us and it would be fun to give his relatives a eally amazing brownie since most have never had brownies before (they’re an American thing I guess).
The Fall Leaf Wine Bottle Stoppers would be perfect favors for our wedding. We are incorporating a Tuscan theme with our fall New England wedding. My fiance popped the question in Italy and we spent time in Tuscany (and got really acquainted with their wines!!!). And our reception is going to be in a barn in New England (my fiance grew up 20 minutes from the barn) in October 2009. Since this favor incorporates both autumn and wine…it’s perfect!!!
I’ve had my eye on those 4 1/4″ mint julep cups for weeks now! We’re having a small wedding on the grounds of a plantation outside of New Orleans, with navy, green, and white as our colors and lots of silver accents to go along. I’d like to make the cups both our favors and also part of our reception decor by placing different white flowers in each and attaching a placecard with navy ribbon. Delightfully Southern, and definitely re-usable!
The mini oil & vinegar bottles would be perfect for a rustic, elegant wedding. I picture a beautiful wooden farm building decorated in a sage & chocolate cream color palette… maybe have the tables decorated with a lot of natural elements like potted herbs. And of course a locally-grown, organic menu to compliment the oil & vinegar giveaways. Makes me excited to plan another wedding! :)
I am considering wine bottle stoppers since my fiance and I love wine. I had heard of heart shaped stoppers but I want our wedding to have a casual, fun, vibe and since it’s an outdoor summer wedding under a tent, the starfish would suit it perfectly.
venue: a favorite restaurant
favors: heart-shaped measuring spoons, and a mini-set of sugar and spices (both parts of a marriage)
menu: all of our favorite items off the menu, with his and hers selections (appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts)
color scheme: ivory, cinnamon and aubergine
music would match the restaurant scene (french music for french restaurant…)
i’d wear an ivory gown with a longer veil for the ceremony and birdcage veil for the reception and an aubergine flower in my hair
our invitations would incorporate the same colors as well, with aubergine color print and envelope lining
bouquet will be ivory and aubergine
bridesmaids dresses will be aubergine, and they would wear cinnamon headbands and hold cinnamon-colored flowers
:) what a fun contest!
I pick the Sinamay Favor Pouches. We’re going to give out seeds for our guests to plant their own herbs. The herb seeds they get will correspond with their table name: rosmarino, salvia, etc…Those are the names of the herbs in Italian. We are using Italian because we got engaged on Capri.
The edible flower garden seeds favor is perfect for us. We are having an outdoor July wedding and are trying to focus on a nature/earthy theme, wild flowers, my colors are green and pink. So giving the guests a bit of their own garden to take with them is awesome. And I love that the flowers would be edible, what a treat!
I’m so against the personalized water bottles, unless they’re reusbale, which these ones aren’t. Our wedding is going to be organic, in that it’s going to be very natural, and we want a good balance between the Wedding-Industrial-Complex and a very natural, organic wedding, like those that occurred, you know, way back before we were so concerned with what Martha Stewart thinks. Weddings are about you and your partner, so we’re deifnitely all about the personalized stuff, and given that our wedding is in the dead of summer, we’d love to have the cocktail mixers, so that personal cocktails could be made on the spot. We would give personalized matches as our favour, as we’re having a beautiful bonfire :)
Our wedding is in a town in between both of our hometowns. We are from small towns and wanted to offer more accommodation and entertainment options, so we chose this larger town in the middle of them both.
Since the wedding is not in the city in which we currently live, or in our hometowns, nearly every single person will be traveling to our celebration.
So, we are using personalized goodie bags at the hotel check-in desk. Since we’ve gotten a great rate on rooms at the same site as our reception, we anticipate most guests staying at that location.
Inside these goodie bags which guests will receive at check-in, there will be packets of hot cocoa, bottled water, a few bite-size candy bars, a pack of gum, and a list of local eateries and entertainment options.
In the personalization of the goodie bag, we can thank everyone for making the trip to celebrate with us.
The Silver Travel Luggage Tags are the perfect favor for our wedding, as they represent the serendipitous meeting of me and my fiancé. Our two souls were brought together on New Year’s Eve at an airport gift shop where he stood in front of me in the check-out line. He randomly got out of line to grab a candy bar, and as he went to the back of the line, I waved him back to his spot. Sparks flew and we ended up at the bar having drinks. Being a gentleman, he offered to walk me to my terminal. We said our good byes, exchanged phone numbers, and 5 minutes later, he arrived back at the terminal because he was on the same flight as I was! It was fate…we sat next to each other the entire trip and had our first New Year’s kiss together. With that said, we’ll use the Silver Travel Luggage Tags to showcase how we met. They’ll adorn the neck of miniature red-wine bottles from a New Jersey winery (the state where he’s from and the winery is in the family of his best man). It’s the perfect favor to accent our destination wedding in Orlando, which was only made possible by our air travels. Our friends and family will also appreciate the luggage tags as most of them will be flying in from different states!
Favors are sort of tough for me, I feel like edible favors are no good because they won’t last, but it’s hard to find favors that last, that most people will like. I feel like a lot of wedding favors get tossed or passed on to someone else. But I’ve never seen this website before, they have a great selection and lot of great products!
The first one that caught my eye was the Silver Snowflake Wine Stopper. I love winter weddings, and I love simple winter designs. I feel like there are a lot of tacky winter products out there, but snowflakes can be so simple and classy. Not only that, but a lot of my family drinks wine, I think a lot of them would use this! What a wonderful compromise, without compromising!
I also like the Silver Snowflake Bookmarks, since a lot of my family are avid readers. Also, the inner part of the snowflake is a 6-pointed star, and my family is Jewish. These two favors would work perfectly for my family, for a lovely winter wedding!
There are too many great Beau-Coup items to choose just one. With our beach wedding, the starfish placecards would be great for the reception. The gable boxes with personalized tags would make our out of town gifts something special. And lastly, to combat the heat of the Dominican Republic beach, the program fans would certainly help keep our guests cool.
I fell in love those mini spice jars, but even with a gift certificate, they’d still be out of our budget :( So I moved on to other things.
It may be a little odd, but I really like two of the favor boxes.
The Treasure Chest favor box is really unique, fits our style well, and could be a fun thing that people keep around for holding trinkets after the wedding. I love the idea of putting a few bits and pieces of things from the wedding in one, tying it up with a bit of ribbon, and having a fun memento to look back on after the wedding.
I also like the Color Favor Boxes because they are simple and classic. These would be really easy to coordinate into our blue and green color scheme, and my imagination is already running wild with the things I could put in them (Lindor truffles … mmmm)!
