Third Time’s a Charm

For choosing bridesmaid’s dresses!

When Mr. Spring Roll and I were first engaged, sister Spring Roll and I began browsing bridesmaid’s dresses online. We fell in love with a long, rounded neck chiffon dress from David’s Bridal. I immediately emailed my FSIL with all the details. My FSIL lives in North Carolina, so we have been planning via e-mail.

Unfortunately, when time came to actually try on the dress, sister Spring Roll and I didn’t exactly love it. Sister Spring Roll tried on a couple of other styles, including a satin and chiffon halter ball gown that we loved. Sister Spring Roll didn’t purchase the dress that day, as the wedding was still quite a while away. Once again, I e-mailed FSIL explaining we had found a new dress.

Last week, we went to purchase sister Spring Roll’s dress. For fun, she decided to try on a few more dresses. Upon doing so, we fell in love with another dress, a halter satin ball gown. We were unsure of which dress we loved more, so sister Spring Roll went back and forth trying each on several times. We ended up choosing the third dress, the halter satin ball gown. For the last time, I emailed my poor FSIL, showing her the new and final dress.

Did you choose a bridesmaid dress that was dramatically different from the style you first envisioned?

my bridesmaids are wearing the first dress–in black. We were originally going with DB watermelon color, but that dress didn’t look that great in pink, but it is awesome in black. i blogged about it here: http://www.july18ohnine.blogspot.com

i love your final pick, thought

I loved the first dress, it seemed so flattering to all body types but my girl’s wouldn’t go for it. Great choice on your final pick. I hope your FSIL loved it too!

I like the third the best! :) I was in a wedding with the second dress, although mine was a different style because I came in later than the other girls. I think your color looks best with the other dress! :)

Love all three of those dresses! Not a fan of pink in general but I’m sure your girls will all look lovely! I ended up picking out BM dresses that were vastly different than what I had had in mind. I was thinking short, strapless, and green or gold satin/silk. I ended up with tea-length, faux-wrap, v-neck, dark blue chiffon! But they’re gorgeous and look fab on everyone.

If it is going to be that last dress, then I think you should pick the last dress for the dog post. =)
