OK ladies—This post isn’t about any advice needed—other than a good laugh. I am a graduate student with finals approaching while juggling work and wedding planning… and I need some humor. Tell me the funniest thing your fiance has said or done during the wedding planning process. Here are a few of mine:
- When friends ask us how he proposed I have a long endearing explanation of the events that led up to the big question—it takes me at least ten minutes. If you ask my fiance he will simply say, “Easy… I asked her.”
- Originally, when we were researching a wedding date I asked him to look at his work schedule and to ask his family what dates might be most convenient. Instead he referred to ESPN’s sports schedule. Shaking his head he said, ” Well, March is definitely out—March Madness…”
- He proposed at 12:45 AM. After the cuddling and looking deeply into each other’s eyes (hey, I am building up the suspense here) I asked him why he proposed so late in the night, because, obviously, I couldn’t call anyone, it was too late, and I couldn’t go to sleep because I was so excited! His reply was, “Well, I will get some sleep after having had the ring burning a hole in my pocket these last THREE MONTHS. Plus, I get to go to sleep, wake up, go to work, and avoid all the phone calls you’ll no doubt be making…” <insert his mischievous grin>
