About Mrs. Deviled Egg

Mr. Deviled Egg and I finally set a date for our engagement photo session and I’m really excited about this! While I would liked to have already had this out of the way, life happens and the next available opportunity, based on our schedules and that of our photographer, will be just a few days before Christmas.

We are planning to use the Pittsburgh skyline as our backdrop, but for that time of year, I’m not quite sure what to expect as far as the weather. Chances are it will be cold, but it was maybe two years ago when we were able to go without coats on Christmas. (Weather in Western PA is weird!) If it’s going to be a winter engagement photo shoot, I’m kind of hoping for snow. Not the icy, slushy, and messy to drive in snow. I’ll take the big, soft flakes that blanket the ground. You know, the kind that come down slow enough you can catch them with your tongue.

Just look at how great the snow looks in these engagement photos:

Now I want to knit myself a new scarf just for the occasion!

Have any of you had a winter wonderland engagement shoot?

Miss DE - I think you’re in luck since its already snowing! I’m from Pittsburgh too and I know what you mean when you say the weather is totally unpredictable. Last week I was walking around with no coat - today I needed a hat and gloves!

I love the pictures with the snow too, we have been deciding between snowy e-pics or springtime e-pics. But, then again, we’ve been known to have snow as late at March around here so I could have both!!

Are you planning on getting any photos taken at the PPG ice rink? That would be so magical! I hope you are graced with a soft, blankety snowfall just for the occasion :)

We did! We went back to the camp where we met, and were lucky enough to have snow. It was so much fun! Since our wedding was in the summer it was great to have pictures from a different time of the year.
I’m sure yours will turn out great!

Some of your pictures are from my photographer (Craig Wolfrom)! We’ll be doing a winter engagement shoot, and are hoping for snow too. Actually, we’re waiting to schedule until there is snow on the ground in Sun Valley. I think we’re going to do ours while snowshoing, which I’m really excited about since we’re an outdoorsy couple and it will refect us really well. I think that there is a playful romance about engagement shots in the snow that can’t be beat.

We’re doing our engagement shoot in January so we can send our STDs by Valentine’s Day. I live in DC, so the odds of snow are probably not that great if the weather is like the last few years, but I’ve always loved the idae of our shots being taken in the winter, with us in sweaters and looking cozy. :) We also wanted to do it early enough in January that the Christmas decorations will still be up so we can use a photo from the shoot for next year’s Christmas cards!

Great idea. Of course, those of us out in California have to work a little harder to find the snow ;).
