About Mrs. Deviled Egg

Knowing that the wedding day is fast approaching (Just about 6 months left for us! Whoa!) is a huge motivation for me to lose a few unwanted pounds. When I put on that dress, I want to look and feel my best. Who wouldn’t want to feel that way on their wedding day?

I just found out about a website, WeightView.com, that allows you to get a visual idea of how you will look when you reach your goal weight. All you have to do is supply a photo of yourself—preferably taken outdoors, wearing tighter clothing and capturing your full body—upload it to the Web site, select your weight loss goal, and you will receive a new photo within 48 hours of what you might look like when you reach your goal. And best of all, it’s free!

So, I sent in a photo of myself and selected my weight-loss goal. I’ll be anxiously waiting over the next 48 hours to see how I might look when I’m a little lighter. Sure it’s not an exact science, but I think having the visual will be a valuable motivator for getting healthier and looking my best on our wedding day and every day. Seeing what could be will give me that much more incentive to walk when I can on my lunch break and say “no thank you” to an extra scoop of ice cream.

What has inspired you to get in shape/lose weight for your wedding?

How cool! I’m totally doing this! Actually, whenever I need to haul myself out of a gym-avoidance rut, I do something similar– I look at my old college pics or vacation pics where I was lighter and think, hey, I’ve done it once, I can get myself closer to that goal. I think it’s so much easier to motivate yourself when you have a visual!

I will totally check that out, though I’m going to have to go take a pictures. I am using peertrainer.com to help track eating and excercise. My big motivator is that my pants don’t fit! The wedding is just that extra oomph I need to get off my ass.

I don’t as a rule post to weblogs however I liked this post so I was stimulated to do so. Going away from the topic somewhat, what are your thoughts concerning walking? Which is generally being advertised as the best exercise to burn fat.
