Mrs. Cherry Pie's Picture
Miss Cherry Pie, Seattle/Polebridge, Montana Age and Occupation: 25, Marketing Communications Specialist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Nurse Practitioner Engagement Date: August 26, 2006 Wedding Date: September 2008 Blogging Since: April 1, 2008 Venue: A tiny town just outside of Glacier National Park About Me: I think of life as a journey and I love the places it's taking me! I went to school to study Magazine Journalism, ended up with a second major in Japanese language, and now work at a company that makes software for libraries. I love writing, computers, photography, and the great outdoors. I spend most of my time playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band or geeking out online with Mr. Cherry Pie. I'm happiest when I'm on the road, especially traveling abroad, or just nesting quietly at home with my sweetie, who is a fabulous cook and bakes a delicious rendition of a certain cherry-filled dessert!
About Mrs. Cherry Pie

Oh, lookie! I found another stash of guest photos from before and during the ceremony! Silly me, I forgot that some of our guests didn’t choose our suggestion of Flickr for photo-sharing but stuck with their more-familiar medium… Facebook. (Insert finger-wagging at sisters and uncle.)

Well, I now have more pre-ceremony and ceremony snapshots to show you, as well as a hidden cache of rehearsal photos even I hadn’t seen before. Behold!

Here’s Mr. CP being shepherded into the Polebridge saloon by his groomsmen. It looks like they’re consoling him a bit, doesn’t it?

Believe it or not, this next shot was pretty much candid. I think my sister called out to them right before they went inside and then snapped this…

Irony of ironies, Mr. CP is NOT a beer fan and I found out later that his groomsmen had coerced him into having a mason jar of beer before the ceremony. Nerves? I bet!

Also interesting that he’s a blur in that photo. That’s how the whole day felt to me.

Here I am waiting outside the “ice house cabin”, which got its name because it used to be the town’s icebox before they got an electrical generator and a refrigerator. Did I mention that Polebridge is STILL run on a generator and that the lights go out every night at 11:30? The saloon keeps on truckin’ by candlelight!

Here you can really see the “V” I had custom-cut into the back of my dress. The bridesmaids are two of my younger sisters (wearing J. Crew dresses). And the dude is my coworker, Jeff, who was super helpful the entire day!

The girls are wearing their jackets because it was ALREADY chilly. Thanks to the layers in my dress I really didn’t feel the cold too much. At most, it was an irritation - but I really wished it had been warmer.

Here I am outside the cabin playing with my bouquet. I was having some portraits taken and these little hoppy bugs kept bopping ALL OVER my dress. Argh!

I had some help attaching my veil and went inside for another makeup check. My mom is holding my pocket mirror while I wipe eyelash glue out of my eye. (More on this fiasco later.)

Mom scooted off to help my sister with the instrumentals. When I asked my sis if she would play our ceremony music, I thought she’d be doing it unaccompanied. Instead, my mom accompanied her on most of the pieces. I really didn’t expect this and I didn’t find out about it until the last minute. I guess my mom really wanted to help, but I felt like she should have been in the audience rather than giving her concentration to the music.

Here we are exchanging rings at the end of the ceremony. I love the tender look on Mr. CP’s face and the slight “cry face” on the best man.

At last, husband and wife!! Here we are walking back down the aisle toward the tent, where we had an informal (and completely unplanned) receiving line. We look so happy!

And yes, I decided not to wear my leather & pearl necklace until later in the evening (I felt like it was too much with the veil and earrings and didn’t contribute to photos). After the ceremony I swapped accessories for a new look during photos and the reception.

More pictures to come of cocktail hour, dinner, portraits, and details. But first, let me find those snapshots from the rehearsal…

Mrs. CP I always thought you were totally hot (especially with that V cutout on your dress - meow!) and now I see where you get it from: you’re mom is a babe! And I WANT her dress!

@cbgg: Isn’t her dress awesome? We looked and LOOKED and couldn’t find anything. Finally, I told her she should come check the boutiques near where I work because I always have good luck with clothes (and bad luck with paycheck) there. The first place we went, she found this!

It’s from Italy and made of a very light, soft wool. Isn’t it bangin’??
