Mrs. Meatball, Hollywood Age and Occupation: 30, Actor/Writer/Office Maven Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Actor/Writer Engagement Date: October 7, 2007 Wedding Date: May, 2009 Blogging Since: September 16, 2008 Venue: Private Garden/The Bungalow Club About Me: I love melty cheese and diet coke almost as much as I love my man. I'm from Chicago, he's from NYC, and we both miss public transit and great pizza. We have an adorable muppet dog called Paco. I'm part hippie with a healthy dash of hip hop superstar, have excessive empathy for animals, and have not one, but two bionic eyes (long story). We're broke and it ain't no joke. It can't stop us from planning the bold and whimsical wedding of our dreams, but we've had to get pretty creative to make it work, yo!
About Mrs. Meatball
My best friend is a true delight of a lady. We’ll just call her MaPo, because a) monikers are more fun, and b) she and I used to relish Ma Po Tofu at lunch on a regular basis. She’s also standing up in our wedding as The Best Lady (more on this later), and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

MaPo with her *other* best friends :)

Ma Po and I met at the Milwaukee Rep, where she was interning with Mr. Meatball and me. You may remember me mentioning how my best friend helped me ensnare Mr. Meatball into my love-trap… that was MaPo! We’ve been the best of friends for 6 1/2 years now. In that time, we worked together 3 different times, helped each other move in and out of Chicago, had wayyyy too many margaritas (a product of our weekly fun friday dates, aka Frundates), and practiced random acts of senseless debauchery… quite effectively, I might add.

But one of the most most important moments of our time as friends is the day I introduced her to the boy she will be marrying in just 2 short months. Let’s call him Feta, for he is greek (like me!). MaPo and Feta got engaged just months before we did - so we’ve enjoyed the deep bonding experience of planning our weddings together. It’s super cool, having been integral to each other meeting and falling in love with their future husbands, and getting married at the same time. And I get to be her Maid of Honor! Which means….. Bachelorette Party!!!

*****(MaPo, if you’re reading this… you best stop now, or suffer a serious ass whoopin’)****

Next weekend, MaPo will be flying in to sunny LA for what we’re affectionately terming “Dildo Weekend” which entails a mini-bridal shower and a rowdy night on the town for 6 of us gals. Now, I sure knows how to party, but I’m a little unversed in the way of the bridal shower. Hive, can you help a sister out?

The one thing I do know is that I want to do a “newlywed” type guessing game, and I’m asking Feta to pre-record his answers on video, which I think will be a fun twist. But after that, I’m pretty clueless. Help me gals, you’re my only hope! What are your favorite inexpensive, girly and giggly bridal shower games?

After the shower portion, we’ll head out. I’ve got the limo, dinner and the strip club all sorted out, but I still want to find a cool korean-style karaoke bar with private rooms. I’ve done some research but the question remains - which karaoke club is best? Local bees, your help, if you please! Then it’s off to a greasy diner for late night breakfast to soak up the liquor in our bellies, before we have a slumber party back at my place to cap off the night. What do you think, sound fun?

I’m so excited to give MaPo the night of her life, surrounded by her girls. It’s so fun that she gets a vacation-style bachelorette, since most of us live here, and she could probably use a break from the cold. I hope she loves every minute of it, and I can’t wait to post pictures and share the details afterward!

I think the cheesy veil & penis necklaces and straws can be fun! When my cousin had her bach party, we decked her out in all things penis, including a glowing martini glass. So cheesy, but fun!

We also all dressed in black, and had her dress in white. We had about 30 girls, so this made a big statement when we were all surrounding her, and she was in white amongst a sea of black! :)

We did a scavenger hunt too- we came up with a list of things that she had to do, such as take a shot with a guy of the same name as her hubby-to-be (he showed us his drivers license to prove it). Some were generic, like do a blow job shot, and dance on the bar. Others were tailored to her and her hubby-to-be.

We played bridal scattergories at my sister’s shower. Where topics were “things at a reception”, “dance songs”, etc. The best was when we rolled a C and for “things you take on your honeymoon”, my 87 year old grandma wrote CONDOMS

Miss Meatball -

For Karaoke - Check out The Smogcutter on Virgil just south of Santa Monica…Its more of a hole in the wall place, but I guarantee a hilarious time to be had (not to mention STRONG drinks)

Here is the yelp review:

Hmm. It would be funny if you were able to do like a version of ‘Scene It’— but Bridal style…
Have you played Scene it? It would take a bit of time… But essentially Record songs, take pics of portions of pictures… etc… then play your version of “Bridal Scene It” personalized… Hmm. As the wheels in my head turn!!! You could do so many hilarious questions. I think you could have fun with that… or do something less tedious.

One thing thats semi low cost is a game where every guest of the b-party brings a pair of underwear for the bride and the bride tries to guess who brought which. Surprisingly amusing, allows for a range of budgets, and the bride doesn’t have to do laundry for months! Er, gets some new panties.
