I’m the ultimate procrastinator. I wouldn’t say time is running out quite yet to make parents albums for Christmas, but before you know it, it’ll be December 25th and that album you promised to design and make for your parents or grandparents is nonexistent. For me, the dilemma was different: I really wanted to make a Blurb or Mpix album, but I swore if I had to stare at a computer screen any more than the 12 hours a day I already do so, I was going to go insane.
After seeing Mrs. Cherry Pie assemble her b-pics album with a Kolo and photo corners, I thought about doing the same for my parents albums. After considering photo cornering and gluing the pictures into the albums, Mrs. Lemon turned me on to the Kolo “Riva” album.

All you do is slip 4″x6″ photos into the Kolo “Riva”, and you’ve got an instant parent album. It has pretty matted borders, and the openings are square 3¾” x 3¾” boxes.
My only dilemma is that the albums hold a maximum of 30 pictures. I tried to pick out my favorite 30 for each of Mr. Peng’s sets of parents, and found that it was really hard to get down to that number. I can do 40, but 30 is a no-go.
Dick Blick sells them cheap online ($24), or you can print out Aaron Brother’s 40% off coupon to get one in store.
