I’m Overreacting About Shoes

November 21st, 2008 @ 5:21 pm by Mrs. Sushi

I’m having a shoe dilemma,, which is actually kinda funny since it only took me 5 minutes to find a wedding dress I liked, but it’s been taking me MONTHS to find one pair of shoes. I wanted a pair of fun, funky, red shoes. Preferably peep toe. Here were some shoes that inspired me:

I bought these wedges, mainly thinking that if they didn’t work with my dress, I could still rock them with a cute pair of jeans. Welp, with jeans it will have to be. Not only are they a cream color (too yellowish to go with my dress), but they are also made of a canvas material. Still super cute shoes though!

I also bought these (below), which are my current contender for our wedding ceremony.
My Dilemma: while they are super cute, they are also 4 inches high, so they hurt. Plus, our ceremony is on grass, so I’m quite concerned about the stiletto heel. Although I guess I could use heel stoppers to prevent from sinking into the grass. I guess I’m just not 100% sold on them.

I did purchase comfy Colin Stuart slippers to change into after the ceremony. They are 3.25 inches high. They were the closest ones I could find to 4 inches.

I got the red ones! source

Do I suck it up and live with the ones I got, or do I find new shoes that maybe have a heel closer to the slippers’ heel height and a thicker heel? Suggestions?

just sayin'

the one that says Delman’s is perfect for grass and has the flower pattern that resembles the ones you like. Big chunky slippers are a no no in my book. Too 90’s. :)

Wow! 4 inches?! You are one brave girl!

I’m too freaked out about me feet hurting, so I’m going no higher than 2 1/2 inches.

I wish I could do higher. Props to you!

I love the wedges and the buckled ones - hot! I, on the other hand, will be wearing flats… because my feet won’t play nice with heels, unfortunately. :(

I would be concerned that any heel would sink in the grass. No matter what, I’m partial to the Delmans anyway!

Those will definitely be inside the lawn all night. Save yourself the hassle and get some wedges or a thicker heel.

stilettos on grass = bad. Don’t do it, you’ll regret it. Go with a wedge or fatter heel for sure. And wear soemthing comfortable. Otherwise you’ll ditch the shoes and be in bare feet.

Where did you get the striped wedges, I’ve seen a photo of those before and I LOVE THEM!

The shoes you picked are beautiful! BUT you might want to consider a wedge for the ceremony if its on grass. It is soooo painful to push all of your weight to the front of your shoe to prevent the heel from slipping into the ground. I’ve done it before, and it makes for sore feet, no matter how high the heel is.

OMG those enzo’s are the MOST comfortable shoes ever made! I bought a pair for the first time wore them out and now I bought two more! They are so comfortable and I would reccomend them to EVERYONE

They are beautiful !!!
I love the pair you already bought that says “wild diva”, even thought they seem too high to walk on grass. I think the Delman’s one would be the best for the occasion and they also look gorgeous.

I wore a pair of heel stoppers on my stiletto shoes for a wedding last august, the ceremony was outside on grass and they barely stayed on! The stickiness that keeps it attached to the heel is not very trustworthy so I ended up having to put all my weight on the balls of my feet to keep from sinking into the grass. I do not reccommend them especially if the ceremony is really long.

This doesn’t have the heel, but they look like the right style (and are so cute) and would alleviate sinking in the grass: http://www.bluefly.com/Christian-Louboutin-red-floral-canvas-Kobe-No-Rose-flats/cat20456/213755200/detail.fly.
