Immediately following the ceremony, Mr. Cookie and I got stuck in an elevator. Well, sort of. There is an elevator from the lower to the upper floor of Ten Mile Station. We were suppose to go downstairs to quickly sign the marriage license and then back upstairs for pictures. Well, Mr. Cookie and I were all kissy face inside the elevator after the ceremony and we forgot to press the button. Literally after five minutes we thought, “Why isn’t the elevator working?” We pressed the down button, and magically the elevator started working. Duh!
When we finally got off the elevator, a wonderful surprise awaited us.

There was our entire wedding party, with cocktails in hand, waiting to toast our newly wedded bliss.

Then we proceeded to sign our marriage license. With a few quick signatures we were, in the eyes of the State of Colorado, legally Mr. and Mrs. Cookie.
Then it was back upstairs for pictures, but this time we didn’t get stuck in the elevator.
When we went outside all of our guests were waiting for us to take a group portrait. Because Ten Mile Station is located on the ski slopes of Breckenridge, our photographers, IN Photography, hiked up the slope and took this fantastic group photo.
Although the guest list was a lot smaller than I expected, we really enjoyed the intimacy of our wedding. In lieu of a receiving line we walked around and talked to each person during dinner. (In hindsight, we probably should have eaten dinner first before talking. But I was so excited that I barely ate anyway!) We really got to spend time with each guest, especially the ones that had traveled from afar to witness our nuptials.
After the group photo our guests went back inside for cocktails and appetizers.
Apparently the appetizers were a hit — bacon wrapped scallops were all the rage — and the music was beautiful. We got this news second-hand as we were outside taking formal pictures.
Are you ready for portraits ad nauseam? I promise no tissues are necessary.
We tried to keep the formal pictures pretty simple and quick so the bridal party and our family could enjoy the cocktail hour.
Then Mr. Cookie and I, along with our photographers, hiked up the mountains for pictures. I think I must be a glutton for heel punishment, because I hiked it up in my 2 inch heels. My shoes got filled with tons of pointy little rocks! Ouch! But the pain was totally worth it once I saw the photos. Our favorite!

The next photos show a classic Mr. Cookie. Like I said, Mr. Cookie is a bit of a comedian. Not until I saw this photo weeks later, did I realize Mr. Cookie gave me bunny ears. Oh, Mr. Cookie how I love you!
I was so intrigued by the grass on the ski slopes. It was almost as tall as me.

After the portraits were done, Mr. Cookie and I snuck through the back door of our venue for ten minutes of uninterrupted “us” time. If you can spare it I highly, highly recommend it to any couple. We grabbed some appetizers, a glass of wine, a few more kisses, and just spent some quality time with one another.
Next up: The Cookies make their grand dinner entrance.
