About Mrs. Daffodil

Pt. I: Make Me Pretty!
Pt. II: Time to Get Bridal
Pt. III: On the Other Side
Pt. IV: I See You!
Pt. V: The Final Countdown
Pt. VI: I Do!
Pt. VII: Stealing Time

The day just continued to fly by! The reception was about to begin. We headed toward the ballroom for the ever fun grand entrance of the bridal party.

Now, believe it or not, it took Mr. D and me forever to pick out the songs for the grand entrance! We wanted to kick off the party with fun and energetic tunes and to show off our goofy side as well! We finally settled on two silly and random selections.

The grandparents entered in first, to the tune of… “Final Countdown”! Yes, very random and silly, I know. There had actually been a YouTube video circulating around of an absolutely horrible karaoke rendition of “Final Countdown” that became a bit of an inside joke among Mr. D’s cousins… plus, we are big fans of Arrested Development, which has used this tune multiple times when Gob is about to put on a magic show. Mr. D really wanted to use it, so how could I say no? smiley404

Aren’t Mr. D’s grandparents the cutest? They hold hands everywhere they go and are the most in-love elderly couple I have ever met. I hope we will be like that when we get to that age!

FIL and MIL Daffodil entered! Everyone was all smiles!

Then came Daddy and Mommy Daffodil! I love how happy everyone looked!

z173896

And then it was time for our bridal party! You may remember that we had 8 groomsmen and 8 bridesmaids… which I would say is a pretty big bridal party! Rather than bore you with just a string of picture after picture of each groomsman and bridesmaid, I thought I’d spice it up by injecting some fun tidbits of information about our friends.

The music suddenly fadeded out into our second selection, and Groomsman JW and Bridesmaid TW kicked off the energetic entrance to Paul Oakenfold’s “Starry Eyed Surprise”! Fun facts: JW is a doctor, a dancer, and is super passionate about life! TW is a tennis rock star, a great singer, and is often mistaken for Tila Tequila!

Next up, we had groomsman GT and bridesmaid CS who were all smiles as they strolled in. GT is Mr. D’s best friend from medical school, drives a mini cooper, and loves sports! CS is a fellow Southern gal, an amazing writer, and appreciates all forms of clever humor!

z17389603

Another doctor couple here! Groomsman PK is a doctor, loves football, and has calves that would scare any football player. Bridesmaid SC is a super spunky and laughy gal, also a doctor, and also loves dancing!

z17389604

Then came Groomsman MK and Bridesmaid VN! Groomsman MK is one of those super smart people (in college, he took the MCAT, GMAT, and LSAT without studying and aced all of them) and is now living it up in the Big Apple! Bridesmaid VN is also that super smart type of person, is an OB/GYN doc, and loves her kitty! smiley1017

z17389605

Next up were FBIL Daffodil and my best friend from childhood, Bridesmaid AM! FBIL Daffodil can sing like a Backstreet Boy and also loves pretty much every type of sport there is. Bridesmaid AM is a tennis superstar and she loves her hubby and doggie!

z17404701

Then came Best Man DJ and Bridesmaid FW! (We had 3 best men and 2 maidens of honor!) Best Man DJ hails from a small town in Virginia, is also a doctor and is now living it up in San Diego! Bridesmaid FW decided she wanted to jump on the bandwagon and become a doctor too, and just started medical school in Minnesota! She has also got mad dance moves!

z17404702

And then it was time for for Best Man JK and MOH SC (Sister Daffodil #1)! Best Man JK is a Los Angeles native, loves surfing and music, and is not a doctor smiley309. Sister Daffodil is getting married next May to FBIL Daffodil, and is studying right now to become a pharmacist!

z17404703

They had a whole little number planned out!

z17404704

z17404705

Sweet! And finally, Best Man BIL Daffodil and MOH Sister Daffodil #2 decided to skippity skip in and through the ballroom! BIL Daffodil loves surfing and wants to become a physical therapist. Sister Daffodil #2 just started medical school as well! Yes, I think if any emergencies were to have happened at our wedding, we would’ve been covered. smiley404

z174048

And then, we came! Hopefully it wasn’t too much for all our parents’ friends, but we danced into ballroom…

z17404706

…and we took our liberty in showing off that we were MARRIED! smiley309 (Don’t worry, it was sweet, not gross, I promise!)

z17404801

We strutted our stuff…

z17283602

…and then, let the party begin!

What a beautiful bridal party! It looks like you were all having so much fun!

Your hair is really amazing. Did you have any pictures that you took to your stylist? I would love to have hair like yours on my wedding day. :)

So fun! Love your recap posts… there are going to be a lot of MDs at our wedding, too, although the scheduling is already driving me crazy. Glad to see nobody important had to be on call!

Love these photos. I checked out the Bonaventure when site-hunting and was curious what it’d actually look like in a wedding; the space photographs really well.
