We started off at Harvard, where we made out in front of a group of perplexed Chinese dudes. This is our wedding in a nutshell.
How cute is Mr. HC?
I’m giving Mr. HC the crazy eye here, but I love Leigh’s use of shadow and light.
I think Leigh told me to be “sassy” here. I gave her demure instead. I think Mr. HC is thinking wistfully about the time he whizzed on John Harvard’s statute.
Here I am forcing a smooch after Mr. HC said, “Ew. No more kissing!”
The above are my two favorite pictures. Mr. HC loves old encyclopedias, and after we took these shots, he made a certain Harvard Square bookseller very happy by taking that dilapidated volume off her hands.

Hi Miss HC, I stumbled upon your witty blog when searching for wedding inspiration. I am in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but will get married at my home town in Indonesia next year.

I would like to ask for your input on photographers. I was intriguied when your wedding planner matched up the photographers in your list with the clothing store. I thought that was really brilliant! Can you please see the pictures on these two blogs and see what they are (in terms of style, not so much in terms of price). One is http://www.taralokey.com and the other is http://www.feblog.com.au. I would really appreciate it if you could provide some insights.

We live in a small town that my fiancee grew up in… but unfortunately our BIG wedding doesn’t fit in our small town. Our church is too tiny. 
So we’ve moved the wedding to the next big city… but decided to do our Engagement Pics all over our little town! We started at our church, then went to the Opera House, then the Court House, then our old High School, then his mom’s business, and finally his godparents farm. We love our pictures; they’re so special to us!!
Thanks for the kind comments! I’m glad that our total awkwardness in front of the lens isn’t totally obvious.
@Veronyca Kwan: How exciting to be picking your photographer!! Hmm, they seem to be quite different: Tara seems more commercial, bright, like a bridal magazine shoot, while Foto Expression seems more editorial, atmospheric, like a Vogue shoot. Personally, I like the latter more, but they are both lovely. And it also comes down to how you mesh with them personality-wise, and what their shooting style is for your day (purely documentary, some staging, etc.). Good luck! You can’t go wrong.

We’re having our engagement shoot in Arlington, VA where I live. My apartment building has a rooftop garden which overlooks the city, so we’re going to try to take some shots there, and where we had our first date.

You guys are SERIOUSLY. ADORABLE. SERIOUSLY. LOVE your cute red heels, and you guys just look so perfect together. A little off topic, but does Mr. HC know what his specialty is going to be? I hope he doesn’t mind me saying that in these pictures he looks like the perfect pediatrics guy-lots of character and a healthy sense of humor– and you all just look like good souls-Jellyby included (sorry, its the RN in me-just had to guess)! Congratulations and I can’t wait to see more pictures!
First of all, you look smokin’ hot! Awkwardness in front of the camera? I don’t see it at all. Second, I love the ones where Mr. HC is looking at you. You can really tell… he’s hopelessly in love…{sigh} so lovely!

@carly7215: LOL. Mr. HC will say that he’s just a good actor. After the shoot, he said that he’d had enough of kissing and kissy faces.
