The day began at the apartment of Shannon’s cousin, where the bridal party met and Shannon got ready.
Shannon wore a stunning gown that looked simply amazing on her.
For her shoes, Shannon chose simple gold ballet flats:
Shannon taking one last look in the mirror as she opens a card from her soon to be husband.
It was a typical late fall Pittsburgh day, wet and windy.
The bridesmaids all wore a black dress of their choice.
The church was beautiful, with light streaming in from stained glass windows.
The ceremony was sweet and romantic. I was lucky that the ceremony was long, giving me a lot of time to take photos from every angle I could imagine. This was by far the most stressful part of the day for me. I was worried about the photos turning out when it was so dark and stressed about capturing every important moment.
After the ceremony the families gather for some portraits and the groom sat down for a minute to take it all in.
Have you ever been asked to play a major role in a wedding? You know, other than being the bride.

Is this the polish church in the Strip? If so, those church ladies try to convince me to move my wedding there every time I go in to get pirogies!!

Thanks ladies! It was indeed the first time I ever photographed a wedding. It was much more stressful than being the bride. haha
@JeniRae: it sure is! the wedding was on a saturday so traffic around the church was crazy. Luckily I scoped it out beforehand and met some folks at the church who saved parking spot for me

Wow, you could seriously start a business. These photos, despite your caveat, are so much prettier than many “pro” pictures I’ve seen. You are a Pineapple of many talents.

Hi, I’m the bride! Emily’s photos are fabulous, as is Emily. We loved working with both her and Mingwei, who assisted her. They were professional, unobtrusive, and positively lovely. As for the dress, it was indeed magnificent so thanks for all of your kind comments. It’s by Mika Inatome, who is based in New York, and whom I would recommend a million times over. I bought it at a sample sale at Mika’s studio, and she did all of the alterations herself, basically making my sample into a custom gown. More than that, she was incredibly kind and easy, and I left feeling more like a friend than a client. We were so lucky with our vendors, as this was often the case!
