Foot Note

December 4th, 2008 @ 11:46 am by Mrs. Peep Toe

To interrupt the regularly scheduled program, I am going to ask you to skip ahead nine months to my latest obsession: SHOES.

So what you don’t know is that I have a dress, and it’s ivory and satin. More on that later. What you kinda know is that our colors are kelly green and chocolate brown with a touch of light pink mainly for flowers.

That said, I have reached a shoe dilemma. I HEART the latest trend of colored shoes. So much so, I stalked these shoes on jcrew.com from December to July when I bought them for 69.99 on final sale!! Oh yeah, baby!!

I originally thought that they would go fabulous with my dress, but now that I have THE dress; umm, not so much. But don’t you worry, I wear these all the time, and get the very best compliments every time I wear them.

Since buying them, I am having a hard time deciding if I should go with the latest color fashion trend or more traditional. Here are the current shoes I HEART:

Similar to my original loves, but I think the heel is going to be too high for the wedding. Not to mention, I can no longer find them on the J. Crew website.

These are just BEAUTIFUL!! But again too high and may be too pricey. The number looks so good in pounds, I couldn’t break my heart and convert the price to dollars.

Or these Stuart Weitzmans. If only they didn’t break the bank.
Foot Note : wedding shoes Shoe011
The perfect heel height, with a peep toe at a great price. But I can’t pull the trigger.

Foot Note : wedding shoes Katespa01

These Kate Spades would also be perfect, but the price!

Obviously, I am looking for a peep toe shoe with a heel less than 3 inches in either green, ivory or brown. And apparently, I am going for something with a bow- who knew? At a reasonable price. Ask me in a few days to define reasonable.

Help!??

I wanted to get the Stuart Weitzmans for my wedding, but I just couldn’t swallow the price! They are such beautiful shoes, though.

I just wanted to say– I wore that second pair (in ivory)– the satin j crew shoes for my wedding, and they were killing me by the time the cocktail hour was over. I wanted the height and they are super cute, but definitely have a backup pair if you choose those.

Not sure if it helps but the green jcrew Martine’s are on sale in ivory & espresso (I just snagged a pair yesterday for around $68)

I got red shoes just like your first pair — why don’t they work with the dress? (I think we have to see pictures!) i love mine! i wore them for our eng. session and they looked great!

i would say stick with the green if you go colored — it pops more. don’t do brown. so either ivory or green, in my opinion!

I don’t think this helps your dilemmia, but the second pair of green ones are to die for! The others don’t even compare!!!

I’m sorry what did you say? I kinda stopped reading when I got to the J Crew green shoes and wasn’t able to pull my eyes away for a good couple of minutes. Hubba hubba those are some hot little shoes, kinda like your bee icon.

I love that your shoe choices look just like your icon! I agree that finding a cute shoe with a shorter than 3-inch heal is difficult! Who makes those brown shoes with the bow? They look just like the Kate Spade Mattie (which are out of my budget, too!). I agree with Nada about going for green or ivory.

Okay I seriously loved both of those J. Crew shoes!! I refused to pay a million dollars for them, so I found the first pair (in black) at Macy’s for about $50. The second pair - I loved so much that I broke down and bought them (at full price) for my friends wedding in espresso… but returned them after staring at them for 2 months in my closet. Talk about shoe guilt. Try eBay! I’ve found tons of J. Crew shoes on there at a steal of a price.

I have these in soft pink for my wedding…they have your chocolate brown or ivory! and they are cheap! they do run a tad small, so you may want to go a 1/2 size up.

Have you looked at Dyeables? Not too exciting I know, but I have the Onyx ones and they’re the perfect height, and incredibly comfortable.

Then you don’t have to worry about finding the right combination of colour and style.

So I do love the second pair, A LOT, and I am not afraid of a heel, but I look much better next to Mr. Peep with a shorter heel.

@ Turtle- thank you for the advice- I need to remind myself of that when I look at shoes!!

@Nada and Megan- it’s official- either green or ivory.

@ Megan- Opps, forgot the source.
Here’s
the source for the brown shoes- total knock offs of the Kate Spades.

@Heidi, those are super cute.

Keep the suggestions coming!!

The J. Crew ones you can’t find are in the “sale” section! And it’s an extra 30% off right now! The green is sold out, but they do have ivory and espresso left :)

I also like those brown ones that look like the Kate Spade’s on the bottom.

Good luck!

I just wanted to say that I bought the yellow version of your green J.crew shoes to wear with my wedding dress! My dress is knee length, so they will definitely be seen!

I just saw the Stuarts for the first time in Nordstrom the other day and I may or may not have been caught petting them. I’m in love!

@Lauren, those shoes are to die for!! I heart them, and I hate my size 8.5 feet right now. I hope some other lucky bride gets them.

@Mrs. Avacado- don’t worry, you are not alone!!

@Catty- love the yellow!!

Wacky! I just discovered that Coldwater Creek (of all places) sells shoes and saw these on the sales listing for 22.99:

http://www.coldwatercreek.com/Products/Product.aspx?productid=32910&ensembleid=37705&Skn=outlet

The green is pretty in the picture! There’s no bow, but maybe for the sale price, you’ll forgive them? I like the pleating and the shantung should be a nice dressy look :) They have other shoes that aren’t on sale in satin, but sadly not green - really stunning teal and purple, though!

I like the second green ones the best. J. Crew is such good quality too.
