Post Wedding Shoot

December 4th, 2008 @ 8:27 am by Mrs. Hydrangea

Okay, I keep teasing you with these interruptions from our wedding photos. I apologize for that, but it is always with good reason, right?

About two months after our wedding, we decided to do a “day after” photo shoot. I wanted to put the dress on one last time before storing it away forever, and Mr. H and I wanted some really great shots of the two of us, since our wedding day was so busy and we only got a few posed pics together.

Since we have possibly the coolest photographers ever, Perez Photography, we set out one afternoon in our wedding getup, which, I’ve never had much luck shooting in. I took my bridal portraits in May to avoid the summer heat and got the hottest day ever, then we scheduled these pics before it got too cold outside only to face a cold front with the chilliest wind I’ve experienced in a while. Totally worth it, both times.

Oh, I forgot to mention I chopped off my hair. :) The day after we returned from the honeymoon I chopped off 10 inches to donate to Locks of Love. My hair had grown at least an inch and a half in these pics from its original chop!

For some more pics, you can see them here!

Okay, for real this time, celebration pics from the wedding are coming! :)

I love the trains - how fun! And your hair looks ridiculously cute! I wonder if I’ll have the guts to cut mine after our wedding….

I’m with tater — that red sweater/shrug is beautiful! I’m having a winter wedding and I need something like that! Could you let us know where you got it?

You look great, love the photos!

Cute pics and way to go on the Locks of Love donation. I did it last summer and it was by far one of the best choices I’ve made. :)

Thank you for all the sweet comments!

@Miss Cheese: @HumarockBride: @tater: I actually bought the capelet (sp?) about four years ago on sale. It’s BCBG and that’s about all I can tell you, sorry I don’t have more info!

These photos are fabulous. My favorite is the one where you’re pulling Mr. H in the cart. And the new haircut gives your dress such sassy flair.

I love your new haircut something fierce! It looks great on you!
As I was looking at the photos I thought, did she chop her hair, it was longer right? and then you answered my question.
GREAT PICS TOO!

Would you be willing to lend this delicious red caplet to a Dallas bride who is GROSSLY disappointed by her bridals and strongly considering other alternatives? O:)

Like the others reading I was like, is her hair shorter? Then, you answered it, love the cut! I also love the shrug/capelet, but of course can’t find it anywhere…this was probably the closest thing: http://cgi.ebay.com/Natalie-Knit-XLarge-Red-Capelet-with-Stick-Pin-NEW_W0QQitemZ120342867572QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item120342867572&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

Just had to chime in with this! I wasn’t even looking for it, but I happened to be browsing the gift guide on Etsy and thought of Hydrangea’s capelet :)
