Dancing in the Rain - Part II

December 5th, 2008 @ 9:28 am by Mrs. Crab Cake

If it is going to rain on our wedding day, I would love to wear wellies under my dress.

Here are some lovely choices. Not all of them are ones I would choose for our wedding, but they are definitely fun.

These, however, are a definitely maybe. Not exactly vintage, but I guess the roses mixed with the paisley will have to suffice. The colors are definitely right. Available here.

Apples, anyone? Available here.

BTW, Target has the best selection, at least as far as I’m concerned. More prints and colors than anyone else. Yay Target!!!

Is anyone planning on wearing wellies under their dress if it rains?

The apples are so cute! I’m hoping that we won’t have rain, but everything will be inside anyway. :)

How cute! I love the first ones as well. I have a pair of wellies from Target too…just remember when you’re ordering…go about a size smaller because they run BIG and you don’t want to be clomping around on your wedding day :)

I wear my wellies every time it rains (although it does not rain often in Denver) and always get lots of compliments on them:) L.L. Bean also has many cute pairs of wellies if you have not yet found the pair of your dreams:)

I LOVE the idea of wearing rain boots with a wedding dress. My dress was to the knee, and I seriously considered getting some wellies in case it rained.

Well, it did rain, but I’d run out of time in the planning stages and never got around to getting rain boots. Not exactly something I regret, but a fun what-if.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one with the idea!

I got married a little over a year ago and it rained every day leading up to my day. After the rehearsal dinner my maid of honor gave me a pair of darling white wellies. Of course I wore them the next day and they came in handy when we went to get our pictures taken out on the golf course during the only couple of hours of sunshine all week.

The real surprise came when all of my attendants showed up wearing pink wellies that just about perfectly matched thier dresses. It was such a cool and fun day. Get the wellies and you won’t regret it. Have a wonderful day!

Wellies are awesome! I couln’t have lived without them when I was horseback riding for a living in the UK. If you’re looking for a specific design, keep an eye open for catalogs and websites from equestrian retailers - a lot of teenagers will wear Wellies around the stables and they make them in great colors and patterns that way!
