Carrying the Essentials

December 5th, 2008 @ 1:15 pm by Mrs. Powder Puff

One of the first purchases I made for the wedding was my purse. Now, this may seem like a weird thing to buy - I think most brides don’t even use a purse on their wedding day. My mother, when I excitedly told her about it, skeptically asked, “How are you going to carry that?” To which I replied, “I won’t. You will!”

Which is mostly true. I’m not planning on carting this little beauty down the aisle with me, but I’d like to have it close to hold some essentials - lip-gloss, a hanky, blotting papers (I have the oiliest skin EVER).

While pouring over one of my favorite inspiration sites, Weddingbee, I found some pictures from Miss Lovebug’s wedding back in April.

I knew instantly that I wanted, nay, needed to have the beautiful clutch that she carried back in April. So, like any good, impulsive bride-to-be, I clicked my way over to the Lauren Merkin website, and ordered myself one of these little beauties, otherwise known as a silver satin Eve bag. I had my new initials sewn into the inside in hot pink thread, and waited anxiously for it to arrive.

My new initials!

Six weeks later, a small box popped into my mailbox and I excitedly tore into it. My clutch arrived, and it was BEAUTIFUL! I’ll be using it for years to come, and the sight of my new initials-to-be makes me break into a smile every time.

This was a custom order from Lauren Merkin, and I have to say they were a dream to work with. They were very responsive, and the clutch looks great! They get a glowing recommendation from me, and I highly suggest you use them if you’re in the market.

What was your first wedding purchase?

It’s absolutely gorgeous. Now, a can’t-make-up-my-mind question… are those initials First Middle Last or First Maiden Last?

Such a cute clutch! I haven’t decided if I’m going to have a purse or not. I feel like I’ll be so distracted that day that I will leave it somewhere or Mark will just end up holding onto it in his jacket…

Those would be great for bridesmaids though with the initials….hmm new idea to add to the list!

Such a sweet little bag! I’m pretty sure my 1st purchase was a Mr & Mrs table sign from Lenox. I remember being so excited to buy it!
