If I Hadn’t Already Bought Mine…

December 8th, 2008 @ 3:29 pm by Mrs. Crab Cake

I would totally wear a pink wedding dress.

This is from Carolina Herrera, via Martha Stewart. I especially love the peony-esque flower on the bodice.

Also from Carolina Herrera. Also via Martha Stewart.

Here’s one from Alfred Angelo, style number 1607

This is Maggie Sottero’s Amour Bouquet

Maggie Sottero’s Geneva

From Dere Kiang, via the knot

From Anjolique Bridal via the knot

From Sottero & Midgley, definitely my style! Photo via the knot.

Does anyone else wish they’d waited to buy their gown?

I’ve always loved the idea of a colored dress. But I’m stumped by what the bridal party would wear! I love the first dress!

All of the time! Sometimes I am tempted to duck into cute boutiques and try things on, but I never have.

Loooove the blush/pink dresses! I looked at some, and ended up with a gold dress (the jim hjelm “antique” color). Bridesmaids are wearing white!

I love the first dress!
I’m selling the first dress I bought, and I already bought another one. I love the dress I have now, but I still look at others and drool over them!

Long before I ever was engaged, I insisted I would wear a pink dress for my wedding. I love that second dress with the sleeves and collar. I didn’t end up having any color on my dress, but I still loved it. And yes, I wish I had waited a long time before buying a dress. But in the end, everything worked out phenomenally.

I wore a pink dress. I wanted a pink dress from the very beginning and never regretted the decision I made. Even after so many people asked me what I would think when I looked back 30 years from now. My answer… “I Loved that dress!” I tried on lots of dresses, and putting on the pink one made me feel like a “bride”.

I think it’s each to their own personality. People are still talking about the dress, and refer to me as the girl who wore a pink dress.

However, even with the few colored dresses in magazines, very few of them are of real weddings. And you always hear about the colored dress trend, but I don’t actually see the realization of that trend.

So, in my own inspiration, to prove I wasn’t crazy, I collected pictures of real brides in real pink dresses. You can check them out here. Never regretted the decision I made. The last one is my dress!!! Only, I’m doing Ivory and not pink…Pink on a fair skinned redhead isn’t quite as pretty as Ivory…

Isn’t that second Caroline Herrera Mrs. Beetle’s dress? I remember she had a pink Caroline Herrera with a collar and pockets…

The last dress is mine too! I got it in the pink color shown! I am going tomorrow, thursday, to try it on for the first time. I am doing a cherry blossom theme wedding and my BM’s are wearing chocolate dresses. My wedding is May 16, 2009. I am so excited and can’t wait.

BTW, I am open to cherry blossom ideas ;)
