We picked this group because it allowed us to have a few special songs with vocals (ceremony interlude and first dance song), but we were able to have instrumental music throughout the rest of the day. The group did such a great job of feeling out the crowd. Throughout the day they played beautiful music that complemented the space without being overbearing or distracting. They also took their lunch break in shifts so that the music was continuous throughout the afternoon. Our musical selections for the ceremony included:
Prelude: Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring (Bach)
A classic prelude song. I love the flow and it is the perfect pace for walking down the aisle.

Bridal Processional: Canon in D (Pachelbel)
I always imagined walking down the aisle to Canon in D. When the song started playing and my father and I began walking down the aisle, the music really overtook me. I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

Music Interlude: Ave Maria - Schubert
Wine Country Piano music has a beautiful version of this on their website and Mr. PN loved it right away. Since we ended up using my favorite reading (more on this later), Mr. PN got to pick the song (marriage is all about compromise
).

Recessional:Peanuts Theme Song
I loved using the Peanuts Theme Song for our recessional! We didn’t list this song in our programs so our guests were surprised when it started playing. It was a perfect, up-beat tune to walk down the aisle! How can you not smile when you hear the Peanuts?

How did you select your ceremony music? Did you choose traditional or modern songs (or both)?
