Yesterday I wrote about our save the dates, and how the stamps did not match them in any way. In this post, I will show how I have made up for it with my current matching frenzy!
The “don’t forget” string and bow motif that we used for our save the dates will be tied in (couldn’t resist the bad pun!) to our decor at the wedding, starting with the bridesmaids’ dresses. Yes, I have blogged about our dresses before, but they came in last week in our color (robin’s egg blue) and I could not be more excited! I love the light blue & black combination. In addition to robin’s egg blue, we will be using a blue-green (similar to the ink used on our save the dates) in our color palette. Our accent colors will be black and ivory.
Bow exhibit #1, color A:

Brave Taffette Mrs. A agreed to be photographed with no advance notice.
Bow exhibit #2, color B:

For shoes, I told the ladies that they could wear any black shoe that they like. Most probably already have a pair that would work, and if they don’t, new black shoes will certainly be wearable after the wedding. I wasn’t even going to suggest anything, until I saw these ridiculously cute shoes on Mrs. Avocado’s newlywed blog, That Wife. (You have great taste, Avo! I cannot thank you enough for posting these!)
Bow example #3, accent color #1:

Are these not the cutest?! The best part is the bow- take a look at the top view:

The bow only splays out to one side, which looks absolutely fabulous when the two shoes are side by side. I know this because as soon as I sent this shoe link as a recommendation to my bridesmaids, I ordered a pair for myself! (Did I mention they were crazy on sale???) I love black heels, especially if they are peep toe, especially if they have an ankle strap, and if you haven’t noticed, I have a wee bit of a bow fetish lately.
Okay, it’s a problem, I admit it. I have the urge to plop a bow upon anything wedding related! Vases? Sure! Napkin rings? Fabulous! Escort cards? Why not! I am going to have to set some major limits here!
If you are starting to become worried about my addiction, I would like to remind you that the bridesmaid dresses are very long, so for the girls that choose this shoe, the bows will most likely be our little secret.
Here’s a shot of the whole bridesmaid dress (before the hem or any alterations):

I am really pleased with the design! And I loooove how much it relates to our save the dates. Yes, I may be the only one who notices this, which is just fine. I will bask in my glory alone if I must.
Did you get carried away (or tied up, like me) with a design motif for your wedding?
