Gifts for the Lady Champs

December 11th, 2008 @ 5:30 pm by Mrs. Champagne

I wanted to gift my bridesmaids something that they would be able to use again. I know every bride says that, but I thought I could get the Lady Champs something fitting for our winter wedding.

***Please pretty please stop reading if you’re a bridesmaid—that means you KC–I know you want a peek, but don’t you dare!***

I know not everyone agrees with me that UGGs are the most comfortable boots, but I personally love them. You may recall I have some issues with my feet, so I’m constantly wearing my UGGs. My favorites are the UGG mini—they don’t get too hot and they make you feel like you’re wearing slippers! So I thought I would get all the girls a pair of UGG boots. It would make for some cute photos and they can always wear them again! I got them the UGG Classic Short in Chestnut.

To keep her warm, I also purchased each girl a black pashmina. I opted for the 4-ply cashmere scarf for the warmth factor. I purchased them from Orient Trend, and they have a 10% discount for 5 or more using the code “Bridesmaid”.

If you’ve ever used the Mentha lip gloss collection from CO Bigelow, you’ll know why I got them this next little gift. This lip gloss is AWESOME! It actually freshens your breath- I’m not joking- it really does.

I actually found this package of 6 mini Menthas in the following flavors: Original Mentha Lip Shine, Ultra Mentha Lip Shine, Spearmint Mentha Lip Shine, Cinnamint Mentha Lip Shine, Pink Mint Mentha Lip Tint and Mentha Lip Buffer for $18 at Bath and Body Works.

To keep it all straight I got each girl a monogrammed tote bag from The Knot Wedding Shop. My only advice on these is to wait for them to go on sale (they actually go on sale pretty often). I think I paid $15 for each, and the normal price is $24.00.

I’ll probably add a few random things in there, but that’s pretty much it! I also purchased UGGs and pashminas as a surprise for the moms as they will be getting ready with us the morning of the wedding. Both moms are wearing black, so I figured if they wanted to, they could wear the pashminas too!

What did you gift your moms and maids?!

Holy lord girl! You aren’t messing around. I wish I could’ve afforded to that for my 6 lovely ladies (oh and flower girl/moms)! Can I be an understudy bridesmaid in case one backs out? :^) Great gifts!

Ms Champ,

I love your idea for Bm gifts! I think I may steal the pashminas and mentho lip gloss, and probably the monogrammed bags! MY BM’s dresses actually come with a shawl, but this would give them a way to be different (our colors are black and blue, the dress will blue with a matching shawl, so I will get them black pashminas),. Thanks for the ideas!!!

I also wanted to mention I feel your pain with the foot issues. I have an extra bone in each foot in the same spot, so I had to have surgery on both feet to have then removed right at the bend of my foot. Thankfully it wasn’t at the same time!! But now my ankles turn in in heels, so i’ve decided to wear blue ballet flats as my wedding shoes! FI is 6′0 and I’m 5′9, so I have no need for the additional height :)

It’s really hard for me not to buy that lip gloss every single time I set foot in Bath and Body Works. Costco also sells these boots kind of like uggs that I think are even more comfortable. They aren’t quite as “cute” but the cuddly lining holds up so well over time.

I love that lip gloss sooo much. When i used to diet, I would put it on my lips JUST to have something sugary and sweet. How messed up is that??

I have the Ugg minis too and I love them because you can wear them for longer through the year - I generally break them out in October and put them away in March. I’ve started having arch support problems though so I’m looking for a faux ugg alternative with better arch support…

Can I just say I am in LOVE with the Bigelow lipgloss, its the only thing I put on my lips now. The peppermint extract helps ‘em plump up a little too :)

The Uggs are such a cute idea! I bought a pair of Bearpaw ankle boots and they look and feel exactly like Uggs but for half the price. The lining is so dreamy.

Great gifts Champ!

@Miss Dumpling: omg you are too funny- that’s totally something I would do too.

@MissCamera: maybe I’ll have to look at the Bearpaw angle boots! I love comfy shoes:)
