Invite Prep

December 11th, 2008 @ 6:01 pm by Mrs. Sushi

Without showing the entire invite just yet, our invite inspiration is a combo of:

knottie: redshoegirl

+

source

Sheesh! Invite prep takes a loooong time. And I’m not just talking about making an invite list and trying to gather addresses from everyone (although that takes forever too). Here’s a lil’ of what I’ve been doing the past few weeks…

sushi1

Our supplies: Jacket Invites, Pretty Japanese Paper, ATG 700 tape gun, and a trusty paper cutter.

Applying tape across opening of jacket invites

Sticking pre-cut liners inside jacket and on top of tape

Rubbing off extra tape

Ta-da!

Now for the bellybands

Before (Japanese Paper and shimmery paper)

After!

(Our names will be on the bellyband, the alias was Photoshopped on)

Of course none of this was difficult, just a lil’ tedious (and repetitive). Nothing new episodes of reality TV couldn’t entertain me through.

How much prep work are you doing on your DIY items?

Wow! I love what you did! I have an ATG gun and it’s the best thing for making all of my DIY projects for the wedding.

these are beautiful! one timesaving tip might be to use scrap-paper to line up to the edge of the jacket, so that when you apply the glue it will miss those two areas you’ve had to rub the glue off of- does this make sense?

I love that color paper!
