I have been anxiously awaiting this day for well over a month. Today I finished our DIY wedding favors.
It wasn’t easy, but it was worth every one of the 3,888 peeled stickers, 3,240 hole punched dots, and 216 tied bows that Mom Spring Roll and I completed.
Let’s take a look inside, shall we?
Mr. Spring Roll and I wanted to give our guests favors that showed them a little about us. I made three favors for each box: an item representing Mr. Spring Roll, myself, and us. Additionally, I attached a card explaining the significance of each item.
Mr. Spring Roll is a master at solving the Rubik’s cube. He can solve any mixed up cube in less than five minutes. We naturally chose a keychain mini Rubik’s cube as his item. I couldn’t give guests just any mini Rubik’s cube; I personalized them with our photo and wedding colors.
As mentioned in my Secret Life of Bees post, I love baking. To represent my love for baking, each guest is getting a heart cookie cutter, with my favorite cut-out cookie recipe. This was by far the easiest of the DIY’s.
For the past four years Mr. Spring Roll has promised me that he would one day take me to see the Eiffel Tower. We are spending our honeymoon in London and Paris, where Mr. Spring Roll will fulfill his promise. Since I can’t give each guest an Eiffel Tower, I made them each an Eiffel Tower bar of soap for their shower (tower, shower, get it?).
Stay tuned for the tutorials on how I made the Rubik’s cubes and Eiffel Tower soap!
