Closet Shopper

December 15th, 2008 @ 2:18 pm by Mrs. Powder Puff

No no no, it’s not what you think! I do my shopping loud and proud. I’m talking about shopping in my own closet.

Let me explain. I have had a really difficult time finding appropriate wedding shoes. I don’t know about you all, but when I get a specific vision in my head, nothing can live up to it. And from the very beginning, I knew that my shoes would have to be fabulous!

My requirements were tough.

1. Low heel. I’m going to be on my feet alllll day. As much as I love me some three-inch heels, I want to be comfortable, peeps. Like my mother always says, nothing ruins your day like uncomfortable shoes.
2. Light colored. I love the look of brightly-colored shoes, but the wedding day feel I’m going for is a little softer than that. More pastel-y.
3. Cheap cheapy cheap. Need I say more?

Since the day I chose my dress I have been searching high and low for shoes that fit this requirement. They were nowhere to be found! Until I looked in my closet.

Closet Shopper : wedding shoes Wedding012 Score!

My sister bought these shoes for me a few Christmases ago, but I’ve never worn them due to the fact that they’re light pink and suede. Dirt magnets! But when I saw them innocently sitting in my closet, I realized they’d be perfect for the wedding!

They’re very sweet, with the little bow, and I love the ribbon that’s woven around the scalloped edges. So cute! And comfortable- I’ll be able to dance the night away with these little babies on my feet.

Are you using anything for your wedding that you already own?

I am a total closet shopper! Any time when I am low on funds but need a new oufit, i will resurrect something from my closet and wear it with a new twist. Put a belt on an old dress, tuck those too short jeans into some riding boots, instant new outfit!

I didn’t find anything that I already had that would work on the wedding day, but I did buy a ridiculously cute pair of shoes that I’ll definitely wear again (and again!). That’s one benefit of the brightly colored shoes trend, you’re not limited to white and rhinestones. :)

Cute! I too am using shoes that I already own! They just worked so well that there was no need to buy new ones–I saved myself a shopping trip and a lot of money!

@Anonymous: They’re from Banana Republic. At least three years ago though… maybe more!

Yup! Am wearing a black pair of strappy heels that I’ve owned for 3 wears but seldom worn. It’s great that they’ve already been broken in, so less ouchy feet on the big day!
