Part VII: Stealing a Moment Alone

December 17th, 2008 @ 4:09 pm by Mrs. Pinot Noir

Mr. PN and I were lucky enough to steal a few private moments after the ceremony. Casey, our wonderful event coordinator at Auberge du Soleil, led us into the Cedar Room immediately after the ceremony recession. Since we didn’t have a first look, it was our first (and last) moment alone during the day. The wonderful staff prepared us a tray with a sampling of our passed hors d’oeuvres and 2 glasses of champagne. After a few minutes our photographer popped in to take a few photos.

All photos by Jim Forneris Photography

Can you see Mr. PN’s eyes in this picture?? I think he is looking at my ta-tas!

I love our smiles in this photo.

I am so glad that Casey suggested this special time for us to be alone after the ceremony. It isn’t something I would have thought to ask for, but it was a perfect way to catch up and collect ourselves before we joined the party!
Have you incorporated any alone time into your wedding day schedule?

That was the best advice I got before the wedding, and the only advice to come from a guy: get all the alone time you can. He was very emphatic about it, so I took him seriously!

I love that they made you a little plate too :) I’m definitely going to make this happen for us.

That is so wonderful that you got to take a few minutes to spend with one another. I hope Mr. Spring Roll and I get to do that.

I like that you spent some time together alone on your wedding day before things got too hectic at the reception. Great idea!

West Coast bride

I’ve heard this alot, and am trying to convince West Coast Groom that it would be beneficial. We’re doing our wedding and reception and photos all in one place, so I’m hoping that after we’re done taking all our photos, we can steal a moment before joining the party. West Coast Groom is introverted, and loves having me all to himself, so I’m perplexed as to why he doesn’t seem at all concerned about this! We’ll see!

This is a great idea! Not only did you get to spend some time together, you didn’t miss trying the tasty food! :) I am always hungry, so I will remember this! ;)
