About Mrs. Pinot Noir

Mr. Pinot and I were looking for ways to incorporate more of our family into our wedding. Since we had a relatively small wedding party (only 2 on each side) we wanted to find additional ways to include the other special people in our lives. At some point during the planning process I heard about the idea of having a special friend or family member serve as the witness to your marriage. Typically this is the role of the Best Man and the Maid of Honor but I liked the idea of “outsourcing” this role so we could include more people. We asked my brother and Mr. PN’s sister to serve as our witnesses. They humbly agreed, signed our marriage license, and made it all official!

I had both my parents walk me down the aisle instead of just my dad.
And for our civil wedding my brother and his sister were our witnesses although they did not have a specific role when we had the ceremony/family wedding a year and 4 month later.

we had 2 best men, and 2 maids of honour for our attendants, and couldnt decide who to get to sign, so instead we chose our moms. My hubby’s dad passed away a long while ago, and my dad did not attend the wedding, so it was a nice way to incorporate our mothers.

Call me vain, but I kind of wish the photographer hadn’t gotten so up close and personal with my cleavage!! That aside, it was a great honor to be a witness (even though I almost invalidated the marriage with my loopy signature).
