The Great Purge

December 18th, 2008 @ 1:00 pm by Mrs. Peppermint

Last year, around this time, our honeymoon was nearing just as the holiday season was picking up speed. I found myself in a rush when I got back to get in the Christmas spirit! Mr. Peppermint and I promptly bought ourselves a tree and started decorating. Of course, the apartment still was filled with remnants of our months of planning… most notably wedding magazines. Lots of wedding magazines.

Being the resourceful newlyweds we are, we decided to use these magazines in what I lovingly have come to call “The Great Purge”. Basically we cut up dozens of wedding magazines to make a charming garland for our tree.

Sister Peppermint came on over to help assemble our masterpiece:

What do you do with all  your old wedding magazines?

That’s a really good idea!

I sent all my magazines to my cousin’s fiancee, for they’re getting married next fall! :)

My friends and I have been passing around a giant box of wedding magazines for a few years now ;)

So cute and crafty! I finally hauled all my wedding mags to a corner of the guest room where they now sit gathering dust while I wait for someone I know to get engaged.

Sadly, I recycled all of mine! I’d pretty much removed anything that was cute/inspirational to put in my wedding accordion folder anyway, so they were all raggedy and gross!

I don’t know what I’ll do with all mine yet, but most the magazine I have now (all but 3) were from a friend who recently got married :)

Cute idea! I brought a few of them to my gym and recycled the rest.

That’s such a good idea! We’ll have a tree next year, maybe I’ll be ready to purge by then. :)
