About Mrs. Daffodil

Pt. I: Make Me Pretty!
Pt. II: Time to Get Bridal
Pt. III: On the Other Side
Pt. IV: I See You!
Pt. V: The Final Countdown
Pt. VI: I Do!
Pt. VII: Stealing Time
Pt. VIII: The Grand Entrance
Pt. IX: Let’s Get This Ball Rolling!

Our DJ made an announcement for everyone to hold on as some folks got ready for the next show. Next show? What on earth was he talking about? I looked over and saw Sister Daffodil and Mr. D’s uncle fidgeting with the laptop and projector. I turned to Mr. D and he gave me a look that indicated he knew nothing about what was going on.

z177206

A message flashes across the screen: “Now, a little message for that special someone…” What is going on??

Before I know it, I see an image of Mr. D on the screen, in his tux. I am utterly confused. I didn’t even think it was him at first. When was this? Did this just happen between the ceremony and reception?

z177205

Suddenly, the on-screen Mr. D stands up and starts lip-syncing his heart out to the first verse from 98 degrees’ “I Do.” I start to recognize Santa Monica Pier in the video…

z17720501

I could not believe it! If you know Mr. D, you would know that he is not the performing type. He’s the type of guy who will only get on the dance floor when I drag him out, the type of guy who prefers to chill with his buddies in the corner when we go out… definitely not one who loves the spotlight. Yet, here he was, just belting out this song! I was so shocked that I was still confused as to what was going on!

z177200

Then the next part, I could not believe… The video suddenly pans out, and all of his groomsmen are behind him, swaying back and forth to the music! This thing was a group effort!!!

z17720502

z17720001

Nobody could believe it! The crowd was going pretty wild!

z177211

The parents love it too!

z17721101

I’ll show you a couple more highlights from the music video… I wish I could share with you the real thing, but a couple of the groomsmen would only be in the video under the condition that it would never be released to the public smiley401.

A little duet with FBIL Daffodil (who in real life truly has the voice of a Backstreet Boy!)…

z17720503

Some full-on choreography with all the guys!

z17720504

A couple of silly “serious” scenes…

Looking off into the distance…

z177209

In deep thought…

z17720901

Toasting with some Santa Monica Pier churros…

z17720902

And then the climax of the song, the last chorus, where Mr. D just goes full out! This was my favorite part!

z17720505

z17720002

The guys surround him as he finishes out the piece…

z17720601

And then Mr. D finishes it out. smiley401 The screen fades into another message: “Happy Wedding, Mrs. Daffodil! I love you this much! Love, Mr. D.”

z17720602

Wow. Just…wow. I completely just do not know what to say.

z17720003

“Surprise!!” Mr. D says. “Do you like it?” I am purely, utterly, completely speechless. Truly, truly, the best wedding gift ever! smiley101

Oh I love it! That reminds me very much of an idea we’re cooking up. So sweet of Mr. D to do that and what a fun way to kick off your party!

A friend of mine was on the bachelor and that’s where she met her hubby, who worked behind the scenes. At her wedding, they had a mock-bachelor video with footage from her time on the show. It was hysterical!

@Miss Meatball: that’s hilarious and so cute! that’s really cool that they found love on that show! ;)

@Miss Peach Green Tea: we got the dress in Hong Kong, where my parents live. There is this wedding “mall” in an area in Hong Kong called Prince Edward, and it was a shop on the second floor of that building right in front of the escalator (no idea what it was called though, sorry!)

@Mrs. Pinot Noir: @emileee: Mr. D is so sweet…He actually had the guys fly in a night early before the day of the bachelor party to do this!
