He is the calm, logical and number crunching finance guy. I can’t even multiply double digit numbers in my head and I am so indecisive that trying to choose between light green or slightly lighter green paper stresses me out (Wedding planning is going to be soooo much fun). We both find great joy in nabbing great seats at the movie theater for a blockbuster movie on opening weekend, and we are both absolutely crazy about snowboarding. And he loves to cook, I love to eat!
About Mrs. Martini

Ack! I’m desperate to shed a few pounds. About a year ago, I spent insane amounts of money on a personal trainer for about a year, and managed to lose 15 pounds. Once I met my weight goals, I thought I would have the discipline to continue exercising on my own and tearfully parted from my trainer. He was an awesome trainer and if I had the money I would have continued to train with him, but it just wasn’t something I was able to fund on a long term basis. Eventually I started getting lazy again, and here I am today, almost back up to my old weight. I bought all new clothes since the weight loss, and no I can’t fit into anything but my old clothes!

BM Elle and I live about five minutes from each other, and a few months ago we made it our goal to work out  together at least three times a week. We checked the schedule at our local gym to see if there were any interesting classes, and my eyes immediately noticed the “Boot Camp” class. I begged Elle to take the class with me, and she reluctantly gave in. I wondered if it was anything like my sessions with my former trainer, who once tied a sled to my waist and forced me to run across the training room.

It was worse. After our first class, I was wiped out but felt exhilarated. My God, I can get an awesome, no nonsense workout for free! I used to pay for this! But poor Elle, who has never experienced such a grueling physical workout, fought to walk properly as she headed straight for the bathroom to puke. She swore she’d never do it again, but there she was with me the very next week, ready to be tortured by the trainer again.

The trainer is a petite, cute female with a contagious smile. That is, until boot camp starts. I am still getting over the nightmares of her yelling at me in my ear to push harder, and calling me out for trying to skimp on the reps. It was like gym class all over again. If she catches you not doing a push up, she’ll yell at you in front of the entire class - by name - and complain that you’re weaksauce. Naturally, I fell in love with her. A few weeks later, Elle and I were signing papers to officially make her our personal trainer. We will meet with her privately on Mondays, attend boot camp on Tuesdays, and for the rest of the week she will monitor our workouts, as well as our intake of food. Hopefully,  she will help me tone up and become 10 pounds lighter by my wedding day.

This past Monday was our first session, and we had another grueling boot camp on Tuesday. It is now Saturday and I am STILL sore. I love it!

Have you ever worked out with a personal trainer, and if so, how was your experience?

I haven’t…but I want to! About how expensive is that?
I have no motivation at all, and with a fiance whose job requires him to work out everyday, I am feeling a little low. He thinks I’m perfect, but I don’t want people to say how did he end up with her?
hehe

I’ve always worked out on my own, but I’ve become soft on myself. So I just hired a trainer for the first time (I’ve done free sessions and boot camps before, but never paid someone). I am in love with her too. :D

I’ve been working with a trainer for about 6 months now. I love it since I’m too busy to research things to do on my own and it gives me some chatty time too. As for the first poster, mine costs about $200 a month, so definetly not cheap but I can’t afford not to!

Mr. PN is like a personal trainer! He is always pushing me to work harder and stop slacking off! I’m thinking of hiring a trainer for a 5 pack session in January to help diversify my routine and get a whole new workout!
