DIY Rewind: Wedding Party Cards

December 29th, 2008 @ 5:33 pm by DIY

Today’s DIY rewind comes to us from Mrs. Cherry Blossom before she officially became a bee! The CBs created elaborate and creative cards to ask her closest friends to be part of their wedding party. They were a huge hit! This DIY project was originally posted on March 27, 2007.

I finally kicked myself in the arse (yes that is possible) and finished the gifts that I had for my gals to ask them to be my bridesmaids. They knew I was going to ask them but had been lagging on something… so I did a drive-by last Thursday and visited each of them individually to ask them in person since we know getting us all together is a major feat.

Before I show you the ladies’ gifts… here are some pics of the ultimate cheeseball cards Jay and I made for the groomsmen. It was hilarious to make and friggin hilarious to give them to the boys.

Here are 3 of the 4 groomsman … we asked the 4th one last Friday - who happens to be my 4th bridemaids’ BF.

And here are the bridesmaids’ gift/cards … I had the idea aaaaaaaagggggges ago, and actually got it done very early on thanks to the help of my friend, Alison. Thanks !!! Then my procrastinating arse, took forever to put the rest of the pieces together but once I did, I was so happy with the end product. It took me forever to find the right and simple words to put in the book and the pictures to put in. Once I did put it all together though, I thought, eeek, this might not be displayable as there are way toooo many pictures of me in there with them (LOL!)… anyhoot, it’s a nice little booklet they could put away for keepsake.

On the last pictures, I chose pictures that were more “formal” or ones where we were more dressed up. I didn’t glue it down like the rest of the pictures so that I could replace it with a picture of us from the wedding later on.
Here’s a close up of the words… it still sounds a little funky to me but I went through so many versions … argh - gar - mar- garsh.

After looking at this picture - I realized, I happen to be on the left side in each of the photos that I chose!?!?!? LOL!

All stuffed and ready to go - I think I could have gotten it done faster if I didn’t stop every 3 minutes to take a picture of my process. I have a butt - load more pictures of my work in progress. Hope you enjoyed these!

It now finally feels so much more complete and REAL that I finally officially asked the most special girls in my life to be a part of my day. I love you gals so much - thank you so much for accepting. Let’s rock and roll baby!
