About Mrs. Lemonade

I Need Help. Please.

December 30th, 2008 @ 2:28 pm by Mrs. Lemonade

I am shoeless, people. This is not good. I have dress fittings coming up in the very near future and I need to have my shoes. Not just any shoes, mind you, but THE shoes.

You may recall the original plan was to sport some sweet navy Louboutins. Unforch for me the recent economic downturn has hit a little close to home and dropping over $800 on shoes just doesn’t seem prudent. A couple of months ago I started the hunt a new in hopes of finding some kicks that are a bit more recession friendly. And find them I did – sorta. My girl, Kate, never disappoints, especially when it comes to her fantabulous bridal line. I love so many of these shoes but none were quite right. Then I met these babies:

*swoon*

These are THE shoes, aka the Kate Spade Monarch. Perfect heel height, an ankle strap (this is a deal breaker), bow detail that looks like it was custom made to match my dress, dyeable, AND a price tag that doesn’t rival a mortgage payment. Perfect. Except that I can’t find them ANYWHERE in my size (7.5-8). Bluefly does have them, but of course, not in my incredibly common size.

Can you help me locate my perfect shoes? New, gently used, I’m not too picky at this point… please?!

Oh no, Lemonade! That’s a beautiful shoe! I did a little google searching with no luck either. I hope a fellow bride can help you!

Miss Lemonade — I found these on Zappos not EXACTLY the monarch but maybe close? They said they only have 3 left in an 8. Good LUCK!

I too had my hear set on these…and I don’t want to be the one to burst your bubble. But, have you tried them on? I went to my local Kate store and tried them on. They were awful. Hurt like hell in the few minutes I had them on. Not the dance all night kinda kicks I was looking for. Good luck to you and don’t worry, I was also one of those “ha, my dress fitting is Monday and it is Thursday, and I have no shoes” and I found some lovely, perfect, wore them all night shoes:)

Hey there Lemonade! Well, those shoes are beauties, that’s for sure! I also tried googling those shoes, and didn’t run into much luck. Although, Kate has some other shoes that are just as lovely as those Monarchs. Did you see (I’m sure you did) her “Lover” shoes? They are a sling back rather than an ankle strap, but they are also super cute! It’s just an option in case you aren’t able to find the other lovelies. Hope someone can help!!

Have you tried calling the Kate Spade strores? There are three in Texas. They might have one in stock.

Alas, as far as I can tell they’re an ‘06 design, and no stores with a few stragglers have a pair in your size :(

Here’s something kinda similar found via Miss Spider’s post on the same shoes.

Have you tried calling around to Nordstrom or Bloomingdales stores? They are often very helpful and can search their entire inventory to locate a pair and can ship them to you.

Do you have an Off Broadway shoes near you? I’ve been there the last few days and they’ve got some great shoes similar to what you are looking at with the cute bows and some great colors, if you decide you still want to do go the navy route. Plus- they don’t even come close to breaking the bank!

Ooh the shoes are lovely. I second snmc’s suggestion to try calling Nordstrom’s — they were able to locate my purple manolo’s. And I think Ruelala is having a Kate Spade shoe sale right now, though I’m not sure yours is there. Worth a shot though.

I was in love with this pair of Prada’s http://www.bergdorfgoodman.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod29300107&parentId=cat239902&masterId=cat239801&index=28&cmCat=cat000000cat000002cat000010cat239801cat239902
but sadly they sold out at Neiman’s and Bergdorf’s and were unable to be found. I was crushed! I know your pain. I searched high and low and found shoes that were decent substitutes 3 days before the wedding. Good Luck!!!

If you want a nice alternative in the same color & style…consider these:

VANELi Larinda in Champgane Satin

My dress was ivory and light gold and these looked great. I was able to wear them all day to my outdoor ceremony and dance all night! They are a lower heel and very comfortable. I have wide feet so I had to break them in before the wedding - I wore them at the office every day for about a month and that did the trick. Good Luck!
