Introducing the Little Rascals

December 31st, 2008 @ 11:31 am by Mrs. Peep Toe

Four and a half years ago, I was so excited to become an Aunt, and have loved it every day since.

Yet, I realized right before my niece was born that as a single grad student, my brother and I lived in different worlds. And at the time my sister first found out she was pregnant, I was on date number 3 with Mr. Peep. After that, I felt even more out of the loop. They both had houses and families, and I was single and giddy over the new guy I was dating. Having little rascals in the family totally changes the family dynamics- it changes a long dinner out with your family to a quick dinner, a bath, and building blocks. Yet now, I wonder how my family was every complete without them?

To this day, I am still not at the same point in life as either my brother or sister, but I am more than ok with that. I love that I get to have little ones in my life- even though Mr. Peep and I are nowhere near that step. And I love even more that I get to have them in our wedding. Our bridal party couldn’t be complete without all four of them.

I already introduced you to our non-official ringbearer, so I here’s the rest of little rascals:

First up, the leader of the pack, our flowergirl: Miss M. She’s dressed and ready to go for our engagement party in this pic:

Her cousin, our second flowergirl: currently being referred to as Category 4 (she’s just like a hurricane these days, and we think her new baby brother might be a Category 5 in a couple years)!!

Here they are together having a slumber party after our engagement party:

And our official ringbearer, my nephew and Miss M’s younger brother, T-man, dressed up for Halloween as a dragon, but I think he’s more like a lady killer with those eyes:

And I can’t resist another picture of our un-official ringbearer, King Henry, to round out the pack.

Do you have nieces or nephews that you get to have liven up your bridal party and steal the thunder for being the absolute cutest?

They are all so cute! We have our first grandbaby on my families side - so she is for sure stealing the spot light! She will be 9 mo at the wedding but is still the flower girl!

The older flower girl is SO CUTE! In that pic with the little one she looks like a toddler model! We are having 2 flower girls as well and I HOPE they steal my thunder.

First, your nieces and nephews are PRECIOUS!! And I second EA about Miss M–she looks like a mini model in the pic with her cousin!

our wedding party is entirely made of children–our nieces and nephews–and I couldn’t be more excited. We couldn’t narrow down the bridesmaids and groomsmen to an acceptable number for us, so we ditched the whole idea and are only having the ones that will steal my thunder :-)

they are georgeous! how fun! My FI has a neice and nephew (how lucky are we for one of each) and they are going to be the flowergirl and ringbearer. The little girl is a pro as she’s been flowergirl at 4 weddings already, and the ringbearer will have just turned 4 so it should be interesting with him.

They are all absolutely adorable! My brother had a baby girl 3 weeks after we got engaged. She is the first niece/nephew and will be our flower girl, luckily our wedding is two years away! She will hopefully walk down the aisle with my borther (a groomsman) and her mom ( a bridesmaid). She probably wont be able to make it down the aisle herself and we really want her as a part of our day, so having her go down with her parents is the best option and I think it will be really nice.

The oldest flower girl (especially in the pic with the little cousin) looks just like a miniature version of you! They’re all adorable!

Our niece and nephew (not min officially but in every other sense of the word they are) are alomost 3 and 5, and before we even got engaged we already told FSIL that they were going to be the flower girl and ring bearer. They are totally precious and I can’t wait. I also have a 5 year old cousin who will be a flower girl, and one of my BM’s daughter will be almost 3 when we get married, so I might have her as a flower girl too. Altho 3 flower girls and 1 ring bearer might not be proportionate, I think the nephew would love to be surrounded by all the little girls!! ;)

they are so cute! our ring bearer & flower girl were “not quite” my niece & nephew (but they were AFTER the wedding!) :) He was 9 at the time & she had just turned 6. It was sooo fun to have them in the wedding party because they’ve pretty much grown up with me around. (My husband and I started dating when he was just 4 and she was not even 9 months old yet.)

No nieces or nephews…but we have loads of little cousins…which has resulted in three flower girls and three ring bearers! We just couldn’t leave anyone out. :) I can’t wait for the cute pictures!!

My goddaughter will be our (probably unofficial) flower girl. She’ll be just a few weeks over a year, so we aren’t counting on her making it down the aisle (I’m still holding out hope but no pressure). Our ringbearer is FI’s newphew and godson. He’ll be 2 1/2 and already has one wedding under his belt! They’re both beautiful - will totally steal the spotlight but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
