About Mrs. Sushi

You’re Invited!

January 1st, 2009 @ 2:45 pm by Mrs. Sushi

So let me start the New Year for apologizing for my… um… lack of existence lately. The holidays swallowed me whole and just finally spit me out. My last post left off with the send-off of our invites. This is the follow up… our invites!

These are the labels that I wrote to Miss Etiquette about. I printed these out on 8.5″x11″ label sheets (6 on a sheet). Mr. Sushi and I cut them out individually by hand. I am sooo glad we did; I might be a lil’ biased, but I think they came out quite nicely.

Return addy was Gocco’d on the back of the envelope.

This is what the guest pulls out of the envelope. A jacket, complete with belly band!

Invites gets pulled out of jacket and ta da…”You’re Invited!”

Close up of our invite; it’s printed on bright white linen paper.

Next up: the inserts.

The labels look great! I am so glad that using labels is becoming more acceptable, because I plan on using them rather than spending hours on my calligraphy (and wasting a few dozen envelopes).

I love the cherry blossom design. They look amazing. A new 2009 wedding collection “Cherry Blossom” is becoming popular among 2009 brides.

Miss Sushi- Where did you get the design for your labels? I (gasp!) am going with labels as well & absolutely love yours :) Did you design them yourself?

@Miss Quiche: I recreated these labels from paper source (http://www.paper-source.com/cgi-bin/paper/item/Curry-Dots-Bracket-Label/3907.040/37199901.html) in photoshop. I would’ve just bought them from paper source, but they didn’t have them in the color I needed. If you have photoshop, I would be happy to forward it to you. :)

Miss Sushi….beautiful invites! I, too loved the labels from Paper Source but they don’t have the colour I need either (fuschia pink). Is there any way you could forward me your template?? My e-mail is sylviam80@hotmail.com

Mrs. Sushi, these are awesome! I found some other invitations that I love and they are excatly like yours! I have a few questions for you.

First, I really love the jacket, did you DIY or buy them?

With your cherry blossom clip art, did you print this image directly onto your invitations (because the quality looks great) or did you gocco them on?

@AnnieAAA: Hiya Annie! I bought the jackets from http://www.paperpresentation.com. If you go to the site, click on “Invitations”, then “Jacket Invitations”.

I printed the cherry blossom art onto linen paper using a laser printer. I considered gocco-ing it, but figured that would be a waste of time and supplies for such a little detail, so I went the printing route instead. It was a high resolution image though, 300 dpi.
