Smells Like… A Wedding

January 6th, 2009 @ 11:58 am by Mrs. Powder Puff

I love perfume. Something about wearing it makes me feel so… dressed. Like a lady.

My collection isn’t large, but I definitely love all the scents I have, and I use them frequently.

#1: Ralph Lauren, Romance

This one is by far my favorite. It’s sweet, feminine, and definitely romantic. I wear this on dates with Mr. Powder Puffy.

#2:

Dolce and Gabbana, Light Blue
This scent is definitely a little muskier than my other perfumes. I wear a teeny bit, and it goes a long way. Unfortunately, I don’t wear it all that often anymore because all the women I’ve noticed wearing this fragrance lately have gotten a little spritz happy. And that is not a good thing.

#3: Victoria’s Secret, Very Sexy
I love this perfume for a night out. Definitely sexy, but feminine as well. Vicki’s has never let me down.

And now, drum roll please…

The wedding perfume!

Victoria’s Secret, Dream Angels Heavenly
A fabulous scent! It’s definitely wedding appropriate, with hints of peonies, and some vanilla, but not too sweet-smelling. I feel really beautiful wearing it!

What scent are you wearing on your wedding day?

I love Body by Victorias Secret.

Have you seen the racy commercial for Light Blue with the couple in the raft? Oh my! Makes me want to run out and buy a bottle! :)

i used to wear the vickie’s heavenly perfume too! i liked to say i was heaven “scent” i know, horribly cheesy. i haven’t worn it in a while in favor of more lighter and citrusy scents but that’s a great choice!

For our wedding, no scents for us. A woman sat next to us in the theater the other day, and throughout the whole movie, all I could smell was a flowery scent. It wasn’t really strong, but by the end of the movie I had a headache.

Mr. D smells like soap and skin, and I love it. Ever so occasionally I’ll put on BCBG for girls Metro… but it’s the most miniscule amount, so that most people don’t notice it.

Thanks for the ideas!

Escada is really good too! They have over ten different scents, and I like almost all of them!

I have been having a really hard time finding a scent that Mr. T and I both like! I love Gucci Rush, but I think it might be too heavy to spray on. I’m going to order the lotion so I can just put a little bit on! :)

I will be wearing Vera Wang Princess. I figured if I can’t wear one of her dresses, I’ll be able to wear her in some way on my special day. Just the smell alone makes me feel pretty ;)

just bought Miss Dior Cherie for my wedding day. It’s uber romantic and feminine. Plus, the tv commercial for it is so darn cute!

I’m a Heavenly girl my self. ;) It is my everyday scent and I know most people go for something “special” for their wedding, but that scent is what he is used to and its part of the girl he fell in love with. So, that is what I’ll wear.

When we were first dating he would snuggle my neck and say “You smell so good, I could stay like this forever.” A little later I told him what it was, and now he NEVER lets me run out of it (quite honestly, I currently have enough for a year or two). So it is special to both of us.

I’m probably wearing the Bordello perfume oil from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. Their oils last a lot longer than perfumes, and I wore that oil on our first date. :)

I also wear Vera Wang Princess, a lot- I kind of want a different scent for the big day, but I am so in love with Princess that I have a feeling I’ll end up wearing it…. I really find it unique to most other perfumes, and it’s so soft and feminie.. I just love it!

Right now I love my new scent Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf. I don’t know if I will wear that for the wedding or try to find a new special one.

I’m actually wearing a Bath and Body Works perfume (weird, right?). My mom was like…that is not a wedding scent! But I love it. It makes me feel pretty and happy. So I said :P hehe
Its called Velvet Tuberose and as weird as the name is I’m super excited about it. Anyone else get their perfume from somewhere unexpected?

All great choices you listed! I have been a dedicated Ralph Lauren Romance wearer for about 5 years now (The first gift I bought the Mr. Was the men’s version because he liked mine so much). On my wedding day, I am going to wear Armani “Diamonds”.

I wear VS Heavenly every day! I love the soft scent. I haven’t decided on my wedding day perfume yet… I will have to sniff out your choices to see if they can make it in the running for me. :)

I wore D&G Light Blue, it’s all I own because I’m really sensitive to perfume smells and all you need is that one squirt because a little really does go a long way. I wanna go check our your other favs, though.

Daily, I wear Bath & Body Works Honeysuckle scent. Though for my Big Day, I’d probably revert to Cinique Happy Heart. Just smells fresh and sweet and pretty to me.

I wore the VS Heavenly for our wedding too! I have the shimmery one :) I wasn’t planning on wearing it but I had it on for our rehearsal and my DH kept telling me how good I smelled so it became my wedding day perfume. Now everytime I wear it he says “That’s your wedding perfume isn’t it?” So whenever I put it on it reminds me of our wedding

I wore Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I actually got a small little atomizer of it to try out and wear for the wedding but then my husband got me a full bottle for Christmas.

I love the smell of it, it just makes me feel happy.

@JaymeLyn: It reminds me a little bit of romance but less flowery and lighter. It smells great and if you like it, buy it at a place like Sams or Costco. I saved $30 that way!

I’m personally not a huge fan of Heavenly, probably because it suffers from over-exposure (I don’t want him remembering EVERYONE’S wedding day). I wear Moschino Love a lot, but agree with Haley, I want something new for the big day

I was planning on wearing Bath and Body work’s “Rice Flower and Shea”. It was very lght, but seet and flowrey…just enough for a little scent, but not noticeable all the time. It was one of the scents that was sold at the biannual sale (Jan and June). To my dissapointment, last June, I was told that they were completely discontinuing it.

I just found Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I love the scent, and the bottle is cute. I got a bottle for Christmas. I’m planning on wearing it now.

Excellent choice. I always feel soo romantic and feminine when I wear Heavenly. People have a hard time believing its from VS!

I’m leaning towards wearing Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker. It takes me forever to pick out a new scent and I really wanted to wear something new and special on our wedding day. I’ve had to sneak and sample it when I know my FI wont be around - lol, but so far I am enamored with it.

Found your Rice Flower and Shea! It’s available online for 6 dollars!!!

Also: I wore Promesse by Cacharel. I love it, a light flowery scent without the musk that gives me a headache. Mr. Kiwi bought it for me ages ago for Christmas, and I get compliments on it constantly.

I wanted to buy a new one but then realized I spent too much on shoes (d’oh!!) so wore one I already had: Beautiful Love by Estee Lauder. It felt very familiar and comfy. And something tells me Mr Breezy didn’t even notice anyway (har har).

Oooh, fun post! I haven’t decided what perfume I will wear yet. Actually, I’m in the market for a new, light perfume. My last purchase was Juicy Couture’s scent (don’t know the name). It smells great, but it isn’t exactly “bridal” or feminine.
