About Mrs. Peep Toe

And the Winner Is…

January 13th, 2009 @ 9:28 am by Mrs. Peep Toe

As I sat and watched the Golden Globes, I couldn’t help but notice all the white/ivory/champagne dresses on the red carpet. Maybe since I am a bride-to-be I was more acutely aware of these dresses, but I like to think that the stars wished they were brides-to-be themselves.

So here are my nominations for best bridal-like appearance:

Best Vintage Glam:

Best Goddess-esque:

Best Alterna-Bride:

Most Romantic:

Best all-out Glam:

Most Traditional:

Best Destination Wedding Dress:

Best Modern Dress:

And my absolutely favorite of the night… I’ll just call this one:

Best Dressed

And I can’t forge the lovely bridesmaids. So, here are the best bridesmaid-esque dresses:

Best Black Tie Bridesmaid Dress:

Best Cocktail Party Bridesmaid Dress:

Best Garden/Springtime Bridesmaid Dress:

There you have it, the winners according to Miss Peep.

If only a stylist like Rachel Zoe would help style me on my wedding day (well, really, every time I step out in public).

What’s your favorite look? And which picture most resembles your dress?

All the pictures were found here.

I 100% agree with your choices! Eva Mendes dress really does look like a wedding gown and I love it!

there’s an oscar de la renta bridal gown in the current collection that looks EXACTLY like eva mendes’ dress. Maybe it is the same one!

Awww Selma’s dress was my favorite too! I don’t have a dress yet, so when she walked out I went OMG I want THAT DRESS! and then I realized it is no where near my budget hahaha.

Wow, I’m seeing a trend… did you notice all of the one-shoulder dresses at the Globes (5 of the pictures you posted)? I think they are cute and actually thought about doing this for my bridesmaids (I saw some fabulous deep purple one shouldered dresses) but figured that this would certainly looked dated in a few years. I want my wedding to be more classic than trendy!
You have a great eye for fashion! Your “best” titles are right on the mark!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE those dresses, I don’t even know which I would pic for a favorite. I was actually reading somewhere yesterday and can you believe that someone voted some of those as worst dressed? Yup, that’s right, like your fav the Selma Hayek was on the worst, see: http://omg.yahoo.com/photos/worst-dressed-at-the-golden-globes/2579?nc#id=17

I think someone was on something when they decided that list because I actually really like some of them.

Just to let you know, I hear the color they are all wearing is called Oyster. Who knew?

I had no idea that the “one strap” dress style was back with such fury!

I loved Elizabeth Banks’ look, and I agree with the title “Most Romantic” completely. I was especially watching the Globes for hairstyle ideas! I keep changing my mind about what I want, and I knew the award season would be good foder for my final decision-making process! I liked America Ferrera’s and Elizabeth Banks’ the best. Cameron Diaz, as usual, is going for sloppy-chic. Not one of the best of the night for me.

Good picks! Kate Beckinsale is too hot for her own good. But, in all honesty, she could’ve been wearing a potato sack and still been okay. :)

Fun post!

What was up with all of the wedding dress wanna-bees at the Globes? I am going to take it as a cue that I can wear my wedding dress all the time - now that it is fashionable to do so.
