T-Minus Eight Days

January 14th, 2009 @ 6:07 pm by Mrs. Spring Roll

..until our invitations need to be mailed.

All of the invitations have been printed, and the envelopes addressed. However, they are not quite ready for take off. Why is that, you ask? Because I can’t choose between two belly bands.

BAND A:

BAND B:

Which belly band do you like best?

I like A, but I’m obsessed with bows right now. ;)

I like both, but I chose A because I feel like the monogram of B doesn’t really flow with the ribbon because they are two different color whites.

I like A… but will the bow get squashed in the envelope?

I vote A all the way.

I like B better but I hate bows. Also if this is a factor you may end up paying higher postage with the bow because of the thickness. You can’t go wrong either way.

My vote is definitely for B. When I first started brainstorming my own invitations, I wanted a ribbon and bow. But, like @chocochip, I worried about the bow getting squished. A squished bow is just NOT pretty.

I am going through the same dilemma, so thanks for posting ;) I vote B - I love it (& may steal the idea!)!

I voted B. I think it’s more original than a bow.

Love the bow! Go with A!

I pick B - Because it will look much nicer when it comes out of the envelope and not all smooshed!

I like A better aesthetically but I think you should go with B because it is flat. If your envelope has a prominent bump in it they will probably charge you extra postage for it. This post discussed the topic a few months ago: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/extra-postage-for-bumps-in-envelope

I like the whole initial look so I vote for b. But just a suggestion, I would say to put it on top of another cardstock in another color just to give it a framed look. I think that would add a nice touch. But that’s just me.

A is gorgeous and classy! I think B is overwhelming with the vellum. Your beautiful invitation doesn’t need any more adornment - simplicity is best in this case!

Go with B so that you don’t end up with a squished bow.

I love A but like others I have to wonder if it would be as pretty once it reached it’s destination or if it would be all squished.

Maybe B if the monogram was’nt so plain. Maybe a black box around the edge? Oh and if you go with A, bows do last in the post. I’ve just done it!

I second Karen. I think if the W was framed I would be 100% sold. I do love ribbon… it adds just the right amount of romance to things.

Both are gorgeous, but I voted B because of the potential bow issues in the mail.

Maybe to change up B a little, you could do a white W on black cardstock? I like the border idea, too.

My vote is for A. How did you get it to tie like that? So pretty! Teach us!

Definitely B - band A won’t look so nice after a cross-town trip in the mail.

I voted for B only because I think the bow may get squished in transit.

Oh, I just voted for A because I like it better, but B is probably smarter for the mail for the squish factor AND the increased postage factor. They’re both really nice though!

I voted B because it will save you money! Who doesn’t want to make decisions that save them money? :)

I voted for B because I think it is more clean looking (and it would be easier to put in an envelope!)

I chose A because it’s a softer look and coordinates with the look of your invitation. Very pretty!

I like “A” because I like the bow. I’m a bow girl good luck.

I think A looks overall better with your look. If you want to do a monogram and not worry about higher postage, maybe change up B a little bit?

I picked A but I think it would require too much work to tie each bow and then it would get squished in the envelope. But I still think A is prettier.

A!!
B - I get the theme, but the square white just doesn’t flesh well with the ribbon!

I voted B is more “grown up’

I meant, B for me is a grown up style, neat and classic, I think bows are for little girls.

I love both, but I think the bow just takes it up a notch.

I chose B because it’ll mail better. The bow will mostly likely get squished and the bump that the bow makes in the envelope could cause the envelope to rip if it goes through a machine at the post office.

I think the bow will not look so great after being mailed, so I chose B

I really liked both of them and it was a hard decision and then I read a post that said that the ribbon and the monogram color didn’t match. I kind of agree so I choose A!

I voted for A because of its elegance and simplicity. Also, I’m a sucker for bows!! They are both lovely. Can’t wait to see what you choose!

I love the bow, but you might want to take one of each to the post office to check postage. Sometimes letters that have a bulge (like from a bow) will end up costing more to send. Hope that helps and good luck deciding :)
