Mr. Taffy and I are looking forward to January 20th for two reasons. We will celebrate the inauguration of our new president, and we will celebrate our second anniversary. Last year, we celebrated our anniversary by going to the French-American restaurant Cuisine in Detroit for a lovely dinner. Before we got all dressed up to go out, I drew a quick sketch of Mr. Taffy while he read the paper.

I was an avid life drawing student in college, but am a little rusty and was nervous to draw Mr. T, who is also an artist. It was so fun to draw Mr. Taffy on this special day that I’ve decided to make it into a series. Each year, I will wrestle him down so I can create another sketch. I may be able to convince him to do the same! This year I hope to get more of an overall view, as I tend to get swept up in facial details.

Thanks! Last night I did sketch number two, and it was really fun to do it again. I might try to do another one this weekend, as Mr. T was in an uncomfortable pose yesterday and I want to try a different one.
