I flew in on the redeye from Los Angeles this morning! It’s freezing here in New York! But I’m glad to be back because I have so much to blog about! 
While I was in LA I was supposed to have some headshots taken with Weddingbee PRO Amelia Lyon, but I ended up canceling the shoot (next time Amelia!). Since I’d already booked Joyce Luck to do my hair and makeup, and she lives 5 minutes from my parents’ place, I got my hair and makeup done for the LA Bee Meetup. I lucked out that the talented Cat from Next Exit Photography came to the meetup and took pictures! Prepare for Mrs. Bee overload…
I actually hate posing for pictures because I’m very unphotogenic (it was one of my Bee Secrets), but you may not be able to tell because I only post the best pictures of myself. 
I’m fixing those crooked teeth with invisalign as we speak — but that’s a post for another day!

And I have to give major props to Joyce because I absolutely LOVED my hair and makeup! Joyce is also the sweetest person ever! She gave me a list of the products she used, and I’m definitely headed to MAC and Sephora to purchase them!
I’ve had my makeup done at least a dozen times, so I know that Joyce is awesome. I highly, highly recommend her to all you LA/OC brides for hair and makeup!

Lovely! I am glad you had a good experience…. I’ve had my makeup done several times, and I always hate it. The artists I’ve tried have always “overdone” me. 
You look great! And I’m with you on the crooked teeth, I have the same issue.

that’s what really convinced me to get invisalign - one too many pictures with my mouth agape where all I could see was crooked teeth (of course everyone else said i was nuts but that’s really what my eyes focused on each time i saw a picture)
anyway, i’m on try 10, only 7 to go and it’s A-MAZ-ING what it does in such a short time! let me know if you want any inside tips : )

@notsojenny: @pink: sure i will write it up! i tried to replicate her makeup, and i am pretty decent when it comes to makeup, but i couldn’t! i need to learn from her.
Oh, Mrs Bee, please post about Invisalign soon! I’m on the verge of getting them… they’re just expensive!

Your hair and make up is gorgeous! But alas, Joyce is too far away. Any tips for Asian girls with only a smooth lid and no crease?
@laura: i have no crease either which is why i’m always on the lookout for good asian makeup artists. when i put makeup on, it looks like i have a crease in pictures. dunno if i have any tips — it’s just eyeshadow!

You look gorgeous! I live in the OC but my wedding will be San Diego, so that’s probably too far. Maybe for our engagement shoot? I’m always looking someone who can do Asian make-up. I’m 1/2 Chinese my eye lid falls somewhere in the middle of Asian and Caucasian and I think it confuses make-up artists.
@MMWedding: I have one of each. How sad is that? I think it’s happening with age, i’m losing my eyelids, but 1 went before the other.

Okay, I’m a big dork. I sent Bee these images sans any love. You heard me, straight out of my camera with no processing or retouching (not that she needs it!). So, I posted a few on my blog and hopefully, Bee will repost them here. The post processing phase is so important! I have no idea how to do it which is why I have two people who work for me at my photography studio who do! Maybe Bee will let me do a post one day on before and afters.

Joyce Luck is doing my hair/makeup for my wedding too (not Joyce herself, but Lin, who’s also awesome). I’m just going to tell them that I want to look just like Mrs. Bee! We really have to convince them to start a blog so that they can be a Weddingbee Pro!!

You look super fab Bee!! I had Joyce Luck do my cousin’s wedding, but I would really recommend getting Joyce herself or someone who is a part of her team and is recommended. (We didn’t have Joyce, I’m not sure who we had.) I know Joyce Luck is well known for doing a super fab job, so make sure you book with the right people on her team!

Your hair is *perfect* No matter how many times and diferent ways I try to describe “loose, natural curls/waves, smooth and with volume a the roots,” I always get curling iron-curled hair…

Bee - These are FANTASTIC!!!! You are way too hard on yourself - you are so beautiful and these candid, unposed and unplanned shots just captured the essence of who you are!
