Mr. Spring Roll’s Ring

January 16th, 2009 @ 5:57 pm by Mrs. Spring Roll

Before I could inundate him with pictures of rings, Mr. Spring Roll had already picked out his wedding band. Regardless, I showed him other options, to ensure that he was satisfied with his choice.

“What about this one? It has a tiny diamond to match my band,” I excitingly asked. “Nope,” he replied.

“Ohhh, look at this one, do you like it?” I questioned. “Nope,” he insisted.

“This one has a neat shape, how about it?” I asked. “Nope,” he maintained.

Satisfied, he most definitely was. His choice? A simple 5mm white gold band.

Did your significant other choose their own wedding band?

I like the simple white gold band. very classic and manly :) This question goes out for any bride: how much should I expect to spend on a plain white band for my fiance?

We compromised on the band because its something he is never going to wear anyway (he works on cars so it may melt into his hand), so I got what I want and he can be happy that he had at least some input.

@Kelly: I would suggest checking http://e-weddingbands.com . I got my 2mm white gold pipe cut band for about $55 when Zales and other stores were quoting me $125 or more. The quality is exactly the same, just beware that white gold does not wear as well as some other materials. I would definitely suggest them though!

My husband picked out his band because he is very picky. He got a heavy, dark tungsten band from http://titaniumkay.com, and he was very pleased. I couldn’t have picked out his band, he probably would have hated it!

we are designing his together, just like we designed my e-ring together. he’s got some fancy tastes, so no plain band for him…

we both prefer plain & simple, so we’re having exact matching ones :)

glad to know Mr Spring Roll picked something he liked so he can wear it all the time, yaay!

cute photos! i like how all of your rings look together. my fiance’s decision was pretty easy and he went for a simple band.

He chose his band, we bought it the same time we got my bridal set. It’s etched white gold, very simple and he loves it and can’t wait to wear it come September.

absolutley mine did! And it went just about the same as with you. I tried to convince to get a nicer band or some bling or something! And in the end he got his plain old (cheap!) tungsten band.

we are in the midst of that decision, but he’s leaning towards the plain band as well much for similar reasons Josalyn mentioned above. He works in a lab environment with some things that might react with any of the “metals” so he won’t be wearing it most of the time.

haha I definitely tried to entice Mr. Latte with a tiny diamond too…a big fat negative on that one.
@ckonkle: Thank you for that link! He insists on getting a tungsten band from ebay somewhere.
@LatteLove: Plain ol’ tungsten band? And again, how eerie is that???

@Miss Latte: My hubby chose a tungsten band. He said it’s practical because it won’t scratch and it isn’t so “metro” as some of the more bling bands he saw. He went onto ShaneCo.com and found a simple, classic, two-finish tungsten band. I have to admit after seeing it in person, it does look nice!

The bride’s ring is one of the most lasting symbols of your wedding day. In fact, it’s the one keepsake that will always stay with you, wherever you go.

My FI chose his in like 10 minutes; his biggest concern was about the weight of the band and chose the lightest. I liked the one he chose so it was an extremely easy!

Mr. PN was very particular about his band. I thought he would go with the classic yellow gold but in the end he choose a hand-made two-tone celtic design… Always suprising me!

DH picked out his own band - and picked (basically) the same one! He’s very happy with it, which is really all I cared about.

DH picked his own. The thought the rings with the little diamonds looked very Italian…in a bad 1970’s kind of way.

my poor FI is wearing my late father’s 50’s “vintage” band (read: chach), & i am wearing my late mother’s set along w/ the simple ring the FI bought me on my right hand. btw, mr. SR’s choice is the best–the 1st ring kinda looks like the women’s stacking ring from Tiffany, non? btw, you & Miss Taffy are the DIY goddesses!!!

My FI is a mechanic, so won’t be able to to wear his ring while hes working. I told him he could get whatever he wants, since its his ring and he’ll be wearing it. He got a tungsten band with the infinity design engraved in it. It was originally $300 but I got on http://www.infinitytungsten.com for $84 including shipping! I got my band from overstock.com for just under $300 - its not exactly what I had in mind, but it goes perfect with the e-ring and cost a lot less! :)

I love the simplicity of the white gold band! It’s so classic!

I also notice that you posted about hair and makeup trial with the makeup not turning out too well. If you are in the Los Angeles region and would like to do a trial I can do one for you for free :)

Just let me know
