Reader Ring Shots Part V

January 17th, 2009 @ 6:00 pm by Mrs. Penguin

Part I, II, III, IV

Due to popular demand, we’re continuing our ring shots series!  And they’re going to look extra spectacular thanks to our new wider layout! :)

Reader Ring Shots Part V : wedding photography rings B1812170111.jpg
chicagoseattle took this picture with her Canon Powershot Elph and edited it in Paint Ship Pro.  Her wedding band was created using the 5 diamonds and platinum from her grandmother’s wedding band from over 60 years ago.  Her rings are placed among bullets because she is a crime scene investigator, and her husband is a federal agent so ammunition is a daily part of their lives!

OoflowerbudoO took this with her Canon Powershot SD870 on a macro setting.  She used Photoshop for some cropping and adjustment to the color saturation.

honeymyheart’s e-ring is resting on a Badtz-Maru toy that usually sits on her vanity — she loves that it’s covered in diamonds.

Reader Ring Shots Part V : wedding photography rings B18121702.jpg
adias.angel took this picture of Darth Vader holding her ring with an old Canon powershot.  Her fiance created this custom heart shaped diamond solitaire with a jeweler.

feik20 took these with her Canon Powershot SD450 to celebrate her first Christmas with her husband as a married couple!

Reader Ring Shots Part V : wedding photography rings B18121704.jpg
Melodicsighs1 read Anne’s tutorial before she was officially engaged.  When she got engaged on December 22nd, one of the first things she did was take pictures of her garnet ring surrounded by diamonds.  Taken with a Nikon D50.

Reader Ring Shots Part V : wedding photography rings B18121705.jpg
Katherine V took this picture of her emerald cut ring against a peacock feather, which is one of the themes in her wedding.

Reader Ring Shots Part V : wedding photography rings B18121706.jpg
Jamie B plays Skip Bo with her fiance often — you can see it in the background.  The engraving reads: Forever and our day.

Reader Ring Shots Part V : wedding photography rings B18121707.jpg
TCain took this with her Casio Exilim.  The butterfly didn’t move when she set her ring down, so she started shooting away.  Her fiance picked out this Tiffany princess ring!

bdee449 and her fiance both went to the University of Texas, and her Bevo ornament was her favorite on their tree.

Reader Ring Shots Part V : wedding photography rings B18121709.jpg
katemarie’s ring is set against sketches of her wedding dress that she’s making!

Reader Ring Shots Part V : wedding photography rings B1812170101.jpg
Kat shot this ring photo with her new Canon Powershot.  She loves her shell pictures because she’s having a Florida wedding!

Reader Ring Shots Part V : wedding photography rings B181217012.jpg
Annui and her fiance both didn’t want stones in their rings.  However they met on the fencing team, so they decided to have Epees engaved on the interior of the rings.  She thought the engraving was best highlighted by a simple white background.

Taken with a Nikon D60 by Ktomps3 while on honeymoon in Turks & Caicos.

lovemyjosh took these on her honeymoon while having brunch at her hotel, L’Auberge Del Mar.  The seashells were part of the centerpiece on their table.

If you’d like to send us pictures of your rings, check out Anne Ruthmann’s tutorial, think of some cool backgrounds, take a bunch of pictures, and email the best ones to guest at weddingbee.com.  Be sure to tell us your username, and any details you’d like to provide about the rings, camera, or editing technique!

Oooooooo, that Bevo one is awesome. I must show it to FI who is also a Texas Ex. He’s gonna want us to take a picture with one of our Texas ornaments…

I think this should be a permanent series! We even need a little icon for it I think. It’s so fun to see the rings and hear the stories behind them. That butterfly shot is very cool. Where do you get to see butterflies like that?

never get tired of this series. The variety of the rings is my favorite. From the super traditional solitaire, to the beautiful colored stone rings and I love the band with the fencing engraving! DELOVELY!

I love seeing everyone’s unique rings and the settings. I’ve tried a couple of times but thus far, my ring is not photogenic. It has a lot of white gold and the diamonds are recessed so maybe that is the problem, I think I’ll wait until I can get some bright natural snlight to try again as this winter haze has forced me to use lamps thus far. These photos all look great!

@slicey19: Yea the winter made it hard for me to take them as well. The flash makes the diamond look cloudy. I hope to get a few better shots after all the snow melts. :)

So amazing that TCain was able to get that butterfly shot! And the garnet ring is beautiful, it’s my best friend’s dream ring so I had to send the pic to her.
