Getting Gallery Wrap Canvas For Cheap

January 19th, 2009 @ 4:19 pm by Mrs. Avocado

I’ve recently been crying over the cost of gallery wrap canvas prints. I want to fill my house with them and create my own version of the oft-cited Martha gallery wrap layout.

Unfortunately ordering them through the company my Mom uses for her own professional printing would run me $75 for an 8″x10″ print (that’s wholesale people!).

I was delighted when my photographer friend Chriselda sent me a coupon for 20% off of all orders from the website Picture It On Canvas until January 21st using the code “jan09″.

I’ve never ordered through them so I don’t have first hand experience, but you can read about someone else’s experience on The Butterfly Has Landed.

Of course, if you do have any problems you can always take advantage of their 100% satisfaction guarantee! According to their website you can receive a full refund or a free reprint if you contact them about your dissatisfaction within 3 days of receiving your order.

Now, to start sorting through our photos to decide which ones we want to hang…

My husband and I are planning on buying a new house and this how I want to display my wedding pictures as well. The company I was going to use is http://www.mpix.com. I’ve never ordered their gallery wraps before, but I love their standouts. Now I have another company I need to research — thank you!

Whoa, that’s pricey. I have ordered multiple canvas prints from http://www.photosprintedoncanvas.com and was thrilled with their work. We ordered engagement photos for parent gifts, and I ordered an 11×14 wrapped photo of our wedding for just over $30.

I LOOOVE Gallery Wrap Canvas too! I FINALLY am getting my photos done from our June wedding and they will be in this week! I’m getting 9 canvas shots in all sizes to create a wall “shrine” (hehe) from our wedding day. We chose different photos from different important points throughout the day. I’m super stoked to see the result! Our photographer only charged us $400 for 9 canvas shots! Good luck with creating your dream wall! I say it’s worth it to spend the $$!

If your print size is around 8×10 or less and you don’t mind a slightly-vintage look (a little grainier, with colors not as strong), there is also a DIY option:

First, pick up a pack of fabric that prints in your home printer. Can’t remember the exact name, but it’s not too hard to find at places with lots of printer supplies — I once bought a pack for about $10 at Office Depot. Print your chosen photo onto the fabric. Then stretch your print over a blank painter’s canvas (easy to find at art supply or craft supplies stores), stretch it tight, and staple. Voila!

Try http://redipix.com. We use either satin cloth or canvas and mount on foam board rather than stretching so it stays flat and does not use wood that stains prints and warps. We work closely with you while editing your image and deciding on size and mounting!
