Three Drinks and a Grain

January 20th, 2009 @ 12:42 pm by Mrs. Hot Cocoa

On Sunday, there was a snow storm that blanketed Boston in a foot of wet, clumpy, hard-to-shovel snow. But not even a blizzard could keep me from meeting up with Mrs. Margarita and Mrs. Corn to see “Bride Snores” — I mean, “Bride Wars”. Miss Latte, the newest of the Boston Bees, joined us afterward for (what else?) coffee. Poor Mrs. Toucan was sick, and her presence was missed by all.

[L to R: Margarita, Hot Cocoa, Corn, and Latte]

It was such a pleasure to meet such a smart, creative, and fun group of ladies in person. I don’t know if you can see the sign above us, but it says “Sweets and Treats.” Indeed.

Did you go see “Bride Wars”? Did you find yourself drooling over the Jolly Walrus Cookie Bouquet? Oohing and aahing over Kate Hudson’s Vera Wang? Or were you too enraged by all of the stereotypes about brides/women in the movie to notice?

I liked Bride Wars because it was funny even though most of the funny was predictable. As a wedding-obsessed freak the details like the chiavari chairs in the planner’s town house, and Anne Hathaway’s dress and bouquet, got me going! Even my boyfriend liked the movie, and a year ago anything wedding-related made him hyperventilate… maybe we’re getting closer to engagement ;)

Hmmm, somehow I remember the Jamaica Way being much more covered with snow than that. Must have been taken after the movie :)

It was so awesome to meet you lovely ladies. Would have traveled through a blizzard indeed!!

I was absolutely drooling over Kate Hudson’s Vera Wang! And, if anyone else is wondering, yes - they did make that design in a couple of different versions. Either the ‘04 or ‘05 line, and ‘07, I think. Don’t quote me. (I’m gonna hunt for that dress like a mad woman when it’s my turn!).
