About Mrs. Meatball

One of our major goals as we plan our wedding is to reduce as much excess waste as possible by recycling, reselling, or sharing as many extraneous items from the day. Now there are sites devoted to helping us do just that. One new site on the block, which aims to help facilitate bridal re-sales of gently used wares, is BravoBride.

What I love about BravoBride is how it allows you to give back. When you shop at BravoBride, you’re passing along items you no longer need to someone who will one day do the same. It’s the ultimate Bridal Karma… both Earth-friendly and economical. You’re also making a stand for women’s health when you buy and sell on BravoBride, since they donate a portion of all proceeds to the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Foundation.

The site is easy to navigate, and they’ve got nice search features to make it easy to locate what you need, be it a dress, favors, decor, and more. If you’re selling, they make it very easy to list and track your items, with no listing or commission fees involved.

I found some real lovelies on there… from bigger ticket items like Vera Wang, Pronovias, and Reem Acra gowns or huge sparkly diamond rings, to smaller necessities at a discount, like flower girl baskets, chair sashes and aisle runners. They even resell wedding planning books. It’s a one-stop-shop!

Check out some of the goods:

A Tux for $75 will make you holler!

$750 for this Demetrios stunner? Pinch me.

Holy fierce $40 Bolero!

So before you buy new, or toss that perfectly good wedding item, head on over to BravoBride to see if you can increase your Bridal Karma, and make some other lucky bride a very happy girl.

Do you know of any other websites out there that encourage bridal recycling?

Thanks for posting this! Avoiding waste is a big big part of our wedding planning too. I’m accomplishing most of it by diying decorations on the cheap, re-using items from all my girlfriends’ wedding that have taken place over the last few years, and borrowing things like vases from the women in my family. It’s nice to have another re-sale option for later, besides craigslist or ebay!

Someone on here posted about BrideToBrideBoutique and I think they are trying to do the same thing as BravoBride.

Thanks Miss Meatball! I’m going to check it out now. I’m in the market for some vases. ;)

Sounds a lot like http://www.recycleyourwedding.com, but I was using recycleyourwedding.com to sell some of my wedding items a year ago.

@Lisa:
I have seen that site you’re talking about. The recycle wedding site is more like ebay with auctions and they take a commission on the price if you sell an item. BravoBride is more like craigslist, it’s free to post your item and the sale is between the buyer and the seller so they don’t take a commission on anything. I also think the site is easier to use and navigate.
