About Mrs. Bee

I gained a lot of weight over the past month with all the holiday festivities and my trip to New Orleans (the food there is just too delicious!).  I only took one pair of jeans to New Orleans (I’m a light packer), and I quickly realized that they didn’t fit after my first big meal.  I had to use a trick that Mrs. Butterfly taught me when she was pregnant – you loop a hair elastic through the buttonhole and wrap it around the button.  That gives you at least an extra inch of breathing room!

With the new year and new resolutions, I’ve drastically changed my diet and am trying to lose weight the healthy way.  I’m eating lots of chicken, fish, and veggies, drinking obscene amounts of room temperature lemon water (I’ve heard that room temperature water is somehow better for you), and I’ve completely cut out alcohol (my biggest vice).  I’ve already lost 4 pounds!  I’ve been exercising 3-4 times a week for the past 7 months, but I didn’t drop a single pound until I finally changed my diet.

There has been one positive benefit from gaining weight however — my boobs got bigger!  But now that I’m on this healthy path to losing weight, is there any way to lose the weight but keep the boobs?!  Is it truly the first place to go, and is there anything I can do to prevent it?!

Unfourtunately no:-( I lost a lot of weight between 18 and 24 and my boobs changed dramatically! The good news was that once I lost weight, my overall shape had more defined curves to it, making my boobs look better (albeit less substantial!)

I too have exercised myself to death, but notice the biggest changes when I focused on changing my diet! Good for you for gettin on the health wagon!

I wish! I’m already loose in my new bras, which I bought a cup size smaller because I knew I’d lose in the boobs first! SUCKS!

Actually, drinking ice cold water will help you lose more weight because it forces your body to heat the water (burns calories). But congrats on your progress! I lost some weight in the last month, and I hope it keeps up! (I wouldn’t mind losing some cleavage…I was spilling out of every dress I tried!)

I am SO glad you mentioned this! When I graduated college, my boobs were at their peak, haha! I think it was because I had put on a few pounds from beer drinking. After I started working and regained a normal lifestyle, I went down one pant size, and now my boobs are smaller than ever! And that sucks, considering I was only a 34A to begin with. Now I’m barely filling out my bras – I am might go down to a 32A, in hopes that a better fit will enhance what I have left!

I must be lucky, because I’ve gained and lost weight, but my chest always stays the same! :)

Good for you for sticking to your NY resolutions and healthy living! :)

I wish there was a way for me to give you some of my boobage – uggg, I already have large boobs so the little difference in their size when my weight fluctuates is SO annoying :-/
I also had been exercising/working-out for the past 7 mos or so and seeing no results (my clothes actually fit worse b/c of the muscle added to my fat) until I started eating better as well :) In the past week I’ve FINALLY started seeing a difference YAY! :)

I’ve lost a lot of weight over the past 4 years. (I’m 5’5 and my highest weight was 200lbs and now I’m at 130lbs) My boobs were a 38C and now I’m a very modest 32B. But I’d rather take the smaller boobs any day. Also, drinking ice cold water is better for you. It boosts your metabolism to helps you burn more calories.

It won’t be totally the same, but if you work out your pectoral muscles and build them up, your boobs will be a little bigger, because of all the muscles behind them — and perkier too!

or you could get pregnant! J/k :P

Don’t run too much!!!! If you keep your cardio to less intensive things while still zapping lots of calories, you will lose weight but not so much in the boobs. And do lots of pushups, that will define them better (getting rid of any chub you probably don’t have but keeping the pretty cleavage you probably do haha)

Also, keep your dairy intake up, if you eat dairy.

I lost my boobs while training for a half marathon but the minute I stopped running a lot my boobs came right back, and I am maintaining my weight while not running as much and not losing my refound cleav.

I’m with Jessie516, when I gain or lose weight my boobs never change. I’ve always been a 32C but I’ve ALWAYS wanted small boobs. I’m so jealous of the girls who get to wear all those dresses and shirts that look ridiculous on large breasted ladies. :-(

My first thought when I read your headline was “and when you lose weight, you lose them!” It’s a very sad reality!

the same here!…not that i ever was big.

a poster mentioned the ice cold water…yes! that’s what i was going to say. drink your water cold! your body burns calories trying to bring down the cold water temp to your body temp.

good luck in your weight loss endeavor!

I feel like my actual boobs don’t get bigger, just my already barrel-like torso. So I’ll go up a size but not in cupsize. Boo.

That’s a good point, miss hot cocoa…it’s the back spans, and added torso weight that usually results in bigger bra sizes.

I’m with LauraJenny. I’ve heard the same thing. If you work the muscles beneath the girls it can give them more lift and make it look like they are bigger than they really are. As far as I know, there’s no way to make it so you don’t lose what you already have when you start working out.

Is there some sort of law that whatever section you’re actually TRYING to lose weight from is the last section to go? Because I actually had to lose weight from my boobs (the doctor suggested I try it before going the route of surgery), and it was the absolute last place it left and the first place I gain it back when I pick up a few pounds.

I didn’t know that cold water did anything for your metabolism or burned more calories, but I do remember hearing that you drink more if the water is room temperature. I guess this would be for those that struggle with water intake? I’m with you on the weight/chest correlation; for me they are always the last place I gain and the first place I lose!
