In the Moo’d

January 22nd, 2009 @ 2:10 pm by Mrs. Hot Cocoa

Ahhhh… MOO mini-cards. They are so darn… cute. And printed on the silkiest, most delectable cardstock. (I am typing this with a straight face because it’s true.)

hc1

After months of pining over them, I finally figured out a way to use them!

Mr. HC and I have worked really hard on our wedding website, which is now brimming with info about us and our Chewish wedding. But we realized that because many of our local guests never received a save the date, they never got the link to our site. We also suspect that many of our friends and family have probably already tossed our save the dates and thus could also use a reminder of our wedding website.

So I decided to have Moo mini-cards printed with our wedding website info. On the photo side of the cards, I used a few of my favorite engagement photos from our session with photographer extraordinaire and Weddingbee PRO Leigh Miller. (The awesome thing about MOO is that you can use a different picture for each card.) On the text side, I printed the following message in purple ink: “For more information about the festivities, including details about travel and accommodations, please visit our wedding webpage at ____.”

I love the way they turned out, so much so that I really couldn’t bear to part with them. Alas, Mr. HC finally managed to pry them from my sticky little hands, and we tossed one in each of our invitations.

I’ve used moo cards as makeshift business cards before, the quality really is excellent! Great for etsy shop owners or peeps with side businesses. Great idea to use them for wedding! Could be used as place cards.

What a great way to impart the website information (for both your local guests who didn’t get the STDs and but especially for the invitations)!

The photos are FANTASTIC!

I was planning on using mini-moo cards with our e-pics as favor tags, but this idea is brilliant, too! So many choices! I’m happy to hear your cards came out so well - now I have to hurry and get mine ordered!

Thanks for the tip, I’ve been fighting Word all week to make a simple insert on linen paper and was getting scared at the idea of having to cut them all down into perfect rectangles. Then I saw this!

Let’s just say it took me 5 minutes to make and order, and feel the $20 was worth it…

I found another code for 20% DGCHF4 that worked for me as well.

Ahhh MOO! Back in August of 07 (man, have I been married that long already) about our moo cards — we used them as place cards tied to lavender bundles and had our guests names calligraphed by our wonderful calligrapher, Michele Clark.

So fun — bring on the “moo love!”

This is a great idea!!! I have been wondering, simultaneously, how to get our website info out and how to use the super cute moo cards! Mind if I also spread some love? ;)

@Miss Taffy: Please do!

@ankile: They are perfect as favor tags (see Mrs. Onion’s post above). I hope they turn out well!

@Mrs. Sea Breeze: They are so beautiful, you might not need an excuse. Get them as little love notes to slip to Mr. Breezy!

Miss Hot Cocoa - which format did you use because I tried typing in our wedding web site and it wouldn’t fit on one line! I think this is such a cute way to include that information with the invitation.

@ES123: I used “traditional” font. I did have to physically put in line breaks, though, so that all of the text fit on 3 lines. I hope that helps!

I plan on putting our website on our magnet STDs, but now I want to find a reason to use these adorable cards!

These are great! We used them at the wedding with our new address printed on one side, and engagement pictures on the other. I even included some in the thank you cards.
