We’ve got three new features to announce… well, two new ones and one upcoming feature!

1. Bee Levels on the blog

We have a bit more room with the wider design…  so now we’re showing Post Counts and Bee Levels on the blog!  You can see it here, to the right of each username:

Bee Levels have been really popular on the boards (plus we promised we’d add them to the blog).  The levels count up all the comments from both the boards and the blog…

Our software doesn’t let us count up comments by Anonymous commenters… so please register here!

2. Comment highlights for Busy Bees and beyond

We were amazed to discover that 44 Weddingbee readers have commented over 500 times!

• We have 34 Busy bees (with 500+ posts)
• And 10 Bumble bees (with 1000+ posts)

And within the next week, we should see our first Honey Bee with over 2500 posts!

We wanted to reward our top commenters… so we’re trying an experiment.  Once you become a Busy bee, we’re going to highlight your comments with a very light shade of green.  As you become a Bumble bee, Honey bee, or Bee Keeper, your comment highlights will become slightly darker shades of green.

Example: AliCherri1 is one of our Bumblebees!

Comment highlights are meant to be a subtle but fun way to reward commenters who contribute so much to the Bee community.  Let us know what you think.

3. Avatars are coming!

You may notice that we have gray and green bee icons for our anonymous commenters and registered members.  They are placeholders for an avatar feature we hope to launch very soon.

Soon you’ll be able to upload your own avatar, if you’re registered with the site!

In the meantime, a few of the Bee icons might look a little bigger than ideal (Mrs. Penguin’s icon is gigantic!).  Please give us a few days to work out the kinks with the gigantic icons… and to get avatars out the door.

• Uploadable avatars are coming soon for ALL registered members.
